Instead of throwing the toys away, you should tell them the toys are going to kids who are less fortunate and then take them to a shelter, goodwill, or church program that helps kids that don’t have much.

When I was the girls' age my aunt told me that if I gave away some of my clothes and shoes that she'd get me new ones. That was 21 years ago, I'm still waiting for those new clothes and shoes from her lol.

I dont like getting rid of my stuff either my stuff are memories and when my mom tries to let go my favourite thing(s) i exchange it for something less valuable

I wonder if it would help to explain that letting the things go that we no longer use gives someone else a chance to enjoy the items. The items get a second life with someone who could rly use it. It's really hard but making it a positive purposeful thing helped me

When I was a kid, I too had a hard time letting go of things. Sometimes the things that seem like they should be let go of are the things that kids keep because it brings memories of good times. My nephew keeps a old teddy bear I gave him when he was four because it reminds him of the times we sat on the couch, watching shows with it. He’s 9 now.

Moving is indeed so hard. It’s a lot of work. I don’t mind throwing a lot out to save time, but my husband and kids are hoarders lol.

You don't always have to trow away clothe you can always fix them and why by them stuff if your going to be like trow this trow that away... I understand when they don't use it or is broke but not when they really like it

Alexis holy clothes are expensive in stores. If you go and buy a pair of jeans that are holy or ripped you are going to spend anywhere from 40-100 bucks depending on style and brand name. I always made my younger brother let go of papers. I literally had papers that he didn’t want to throw away even though we both knew they weren’t necessary. Whether it was a line drawing or whatever, didn’t matter. Tough love won until he learnt to keep what was important. Then I started asking him what he wanted to keep afterwards.

Letting go is hard for anybody sometimes. I am 38 and I struggle at tiimes.

I have all 200 dolls that my twins played with. Since they are nearly 38 now, these dolls are now collectors items. I have fond memories of them playing with the dolls. Some are named after me. I dare someone to take them! Walk over, but ya limping back!

My son is 33 years old and he as an adult has cried out loud for his favorite stuffed duck that he had as a child. Apparently he was not ready to let it go and he wanted to keep it but I understand because I have a doll that I used to have when I was a little girl and I still have it at the age of 53 so you have to be careful that you do not take something away that means a lot to them I had no idea how much that duck meant to him he was very lonely and did not have many friends so I guess that little duck was one of his friends but even when he was 27 years old he cried.

3 years ago I moved out of old house while I was in school. When there homeschooled teacher come over and they are learning, you can throw away most of there toys while they are not looking.

Love watching you all - just a suggestion though - it helps when you tell kids that there are kids that have no clothes or toys and that it would be nice for them to share - this will teach them a lesson and also make them feel good about themselves - I personally asked my kids before birthdays and Christmas to give away toys to make room for new ones. I would hate to see any of the toys in landfills when there are kids that would enjoy playing with them. Gotta be honest I was a little shocked by the video and hope you didn’t really throw the toys out.

I completely understand my daughter is 12 in a half and she doesn't like to throw nothing away when we move or just cleaning things out, getting rid of old things. We are moving too this Summer tho into a new place and I'm about to go through with this again with my daughter 😆. Yes it's very common of kids having a hard time letting go old things. What I do is let her decide what to throw away or give away when move and then later she decides she will get rid of it when it's old to her lol. Toys and clothes al the same with my daughter lol. Jersey with the weight 🤣 Also I have the letsfit white noise machine off of Amazon it has beach waves , birds, rain, nature, lullabies, fan noise, washer or dryer. Me and hub use it and we are almost 30. If they don’t want lullaby they could use it. I love mine it’s very small and loud but can adjust sound

I get letting them make the decision but honestly I used to just take my daughters toys without her knowing (the ones she never played with ofcourse) and gave it away...SHE NEVER EVEN NOTICED they were gone..so much easier..lol

There is a easy solution to all this. Send the twins to grandma's house and let Jersey the declutter King deal with their toys. Saves mom and dad with boxing extra things up too 😉 3.22 Ava sounded like a thirteen year old. She's growing up too fast I think once it sinks in that they have to get rid of some of their toys Alexis will find it easier to part with them.

When kids love something they really love it and it will be hard for them to let go of it. so even adults does have a hard time letting go of things. but i hope they feel some peace in there heart to let go of some stuff. maybe you guys have to just keep saying to them you are sharing to others who in need and that will help them. but they are still good kids all the best in moving to your new house when you get it.
