This week’s testimony takes us on a journey with Retired Police Officer, USMC Veteran, and Board Member, Korey Scott. From growing up in Wyoming to serving in the Marine Corps, working as a welder, and eventually becoming a police officer, his pursuit of happiness led him through various career paths, but he encountered the harsh realities of policing, including unspoken struggles our law enforcement officers face which include PTSD.
Personal hardships and a divorce brought him to a breaking point, but a rediscovered faith and support system propelled him toward healing. After retiring from the police department, he pursued a master's degree in mental health counseling and ultimately found hope through the Mighty Oaks program. His story is a testament to resilience, self-discovery, and the pursuit of genuine happiness, even if it means treading uncharted paths.
