"Eww... nu metal is so unoriginal and everybody sounds the same, doing chorus/verse/chorus/verse." I swear, this argument comes off as people trying to hate it. I didn't know when growing up what nu metal was, and they just sounded different to me. And the only genres that don't do verse/chorus is prog or tech death.

KoЯn: heaviest riffs (7 string guitar) and most groovy (also with the heaviest breakdowns), therefore least melodic and less energeitc because slower pace SlipKnot: very chatoric, with harsh and rough aggressive vocals, fast pace (the only one of those 4 using double-bass drumming) SOAD: very chaotic, hysteric and dramatic, the singer is kinda psycho / insane LP: the most balanced of those 4, with the most emotions, melodies and energy; also heavier riffs than SOAD, equally as heavy to SlipKnot but inferior to KoЯn

I'm 20 years old Korean. I grew up with nu-metal, muse, queen, scorpions and pop punk. Linkin Park was one of the reasons that made me into Rock fan. SOAD and Korn, Limp bizkit's songs were broadcasted with starcraft league. So nostalgic. Thank you!

@@PierreVG I guess just meant that the riffs are softer and more accessible to a global public. That's quite easy to check. Take a room of 30 randoms people and put a song of Linkin Park and then one of Slipknot and see the reactions to both songs hahahaha. Linkin Park's songs are very good but more commercial in the sense that you can hear them in a casual radio station in the contrary of the 3 other's (maybe SOAD as well in some songs)

@@darkkimhari2 lp has a melodic spine, while slipknot/soad/korn are based on their rythms section i think. LP has a pop sound, with insistent chorus. lp is easier to listen if you arent a metal fan

Based on this, if I had to hear an all instrumental album from one of them, SOAD seems like it would work best. Korn would work the least. Not a slam against Korn at all, but Davis's unique vocals are an absolutely essential part of their sound.

My 2cents. They're not sophisticated but argueably unique. Jonathan's voice carries weight but if you listen to his solo record, it certainly does not sound like Korn. The dynamic between Head and Munky playing off each other, Field's slapping bass (especially in the early albums) really hone the 'Korn' sound. I love Ray as a drummer, but I think David's groove style (again from early albums) fits the overall Korn sound better.

I have to say. Slipknot probs works best without vocals. Korn works well too, the band as a whole tells the story. SOAD is 3rd due to how repetive it truly is. Linkin park, well without vocals it doesnt carry much on its own sadly.

Linkin Park é a mais especial pra mim porque foi a que me apresentou ao rock e ao metal, mas tecnicamente falando não tem como, Korn, Slipknot e SOAD são outro nível, principalmente em bateria

I want to point out a small detail that when people do the whole green screen with multiple of the same guy supporting different bands, they usually are like rivals and giving each other a thumbs down, but i love the fact that they were all cool with each other and rocking out together. Awesome detail and I love it! ❤

Gotta say what needs to be said, Limp Bizkit should be here. Even people who don't like Limp Bizkit will tell you that Wes Boland is a great musician in a bad band. Man was super creative, his playing is super tight and a lot of his riffs actually Slap

Who in the entire fuck would dislike this? I salute you for knowing this many songs. I just picked up a guitar and it's by far the hardest thing I've had to learn. My fingers are fighting me and it's hard to mold/move them into each fret.

Sinceramente, Slipknot fue una de mis bandas favoritas de metal y lo siguen siendo (eso que no conozco tanto del Nu metal) pero, el sonido distorsionado de Korn me fascina.

There is one outlier between all four of these band’s guitars, and it’s that Slipknot’s guitars are vastly overshadowed by the other instruments in the band. Linkin Park, SOAD, and Korn all have iconic guitars, and so does Slipknot, but once you put Joey’s drums over any Slipknot guitar riff, the guitar fails to grasp any attention

It's so cool to see Slipknot and Korn just dominate the other two. Linkin Park is clearly the worst, the most average band I've ever heard of, SOAD has great songs, but their riffage is dog shit. Slipknot and Korn are close, both have greatness in their own unique ways.
