I laughed out loud when she said that 🤣. I’m curious if she actually ended up using any of coffee she brought with her since iced americano is available everywhere (beyond Starbucks).

She’s not wrong though, iced americano is not a popular drink in the US and it’s typically prepared differently than it is in Korea. In Korea, every cafe sells it as their staple drink, but it’s not common in places outside of Starbucks in the US. And despite there being a bunch of Starbucks in every major city in the US, it could be inconvenient in terms of her scheduling. She might wanna drink it first thing in the morning and the nearest Starbucks could be 2 miles+ from their hotel.

@@chaeyoungsbestie414 Americano is literally just a watered down espresso, so it’s the simplest coffee possible. Any coffee shop anywhere in the world would be able to make an iced Americano really fast. Taking your own coffee to America is almost as ridiculous as taking your own potatoes because you’re not sure you’ll find anywhere that serves fries.

@@chaeyoungsbestie414 Every US chain has Americano (Starbucks, Dunkin, Gregory’s, etc even McDonalds) plus pretty much all small coffee shops. It’s one of the more basic coffee choices in America. Even if we stuck with only Starbucks, the joke is that Starbucks is so overstaturated with stores in the major cities that you’d normally have multiple ones near you - I live in an outer borough of New York and still have 2 Starbucks within a 5 minute walk of my apartment. One of my prior work places in NYC had 4 Starbucks within a 5 minute walk. You could stand at one Starbucks and look down the street to see another.
