Man, I really love this SBS segment. Not all One Piece anime viewers know about SBS, even manga readers because SBS usually appears when the physical volume is released. So those who reading online may not know about this SBS unless they look for it themselves. I know this may take more effort than usual, but I really like that you guys did this reaction the right way in my opinion. I know a lot of people might want you to do it quickly by releasing faster. The content is there and not going anywhere, so just enjoy it at your own pace, there's no need to rush.

@@liyenong2017 I could never get into RT TV, they literally shout two words over and over like a broken machine and call that a reaction. In that one guy's case, its just one word he is screaming at the top of his lungs, "stupid! stupid! stupid!". I can't think of any reason anyone would act like this unless they think it makes them seem tough. way too cringe to watch, I only watched a couple of their reactions before I couldn't handle all the pointless screaming anymore. They remind me of the kids at school that played pokemon behind the bleachers at lunchtime

Welcome to the world of epithets! In One Piece a lot of characters are referred to by an epithet so Dracula Mihawk is known throughout as "Hawkeye". You'll see a lot as the series progresses including our crew which is always fun to see. Edit: Luffy starts being referred to as "Strawhat" after he gets his 1st bounty while Zoro is already known as "Pirate Hunter".

The Mihawk entrance was cold! Yea you briefly see Don Krieg get folded by Mihawk when Garp calls him to test Luffy. Think they did what they could in the live action but lacked giving Sanji a reason to join the crew.

it's funny how Matt Owen try to focus to give some screen time to Garp ( a fan favourite that just doesn't intro himself as someone's grandpa) and Zeff more screentime but overlook to give Sanji actual reason to join Luffy. When He said Sanji is his most favourite character lol, he just need to jump in, save Luffy see the BLUE ocean water and remember ALL BLUE like wth still what reason to join Luffy crew he can go on his own/ someone stronger etc. The way I see Luffy got so nerfed didn't show wins at any fights and get beaten down by Arlong, yet Sanji wants to join him WTH lol

@@liyenong2017 yeah, it takes a lot for Sanji to join Luffy in the manga, there is a whole character growth for him to reach that decision, seeing the way Zoro and Luffy fought Mihawk and Krieg was so important + Zeff comments during it, while in the LA...Luffy was just a nice kid he met?😅

@@thereaper317 Usopp was done dirty in the live action in general. He legit did nothing in his own debut arc in the Live action. And they took away his moment of courage when fighting the fish man with the big lips. And idk what they decided to show him being a clumsy with the cannon balls when he fires them fine when he uses it in the manga & Anime.

SPOILER In his fight with Chuu it made no sense that he faked being dead like in the manga, just to get up 2 seconds later and beat him. It felt so random and it completely lacked the impact that moment originally had for his character.

Note for the future, op episodes gets alot of mistranslation Example here he's called the world's strongest man and the world's strongest swordsmen n one episode The wording in Japanese for strongest swordsmen is sekai sayiko no kenshi but even then it gets mistranlated as greatest at times 😂 What I'm tryna say is take it with a pinch of salt

Really? A lot of people hate the live action? From my point of view the live action was very successful, their biggest achievement is exactly what we're seeing here, bringing new people to the crew And as a veteran One Piece fan, I was very pleased with the live action depiction of the story, it's not a 1 to 1 retelling of course, but what would be the point of that? What people seem to fail to understand is that live action is an adaptation of the source material and there's no way to crunch all those anime episodes into a season without cutting some stuff If Oda himself gave the live action his seal of approval, I really can't understand fans hating it

But what I'm saying, like in live action don krieg is remove, 2nd, mihawk and garp never contact each other about luffy or having a any conversation at all, that did not happen in anime and manga, so that kind of ruining the canon story.✌️👽

@@MAC_CUACHIN I really wouldn't call it "ruining the canon story" it's simply a different version of the story Don Krieg wasn't cut from the live action, he was there, and received as much screen time as his character deserved Don Krieg existed simply to have some fight to introduce us to Sanji's moves aswell as his approach towards feeding the hungry, and give us a reminder about the pattern of behavior of most pirate crews, also to put a menacing aura about the Grand Line, which was also done in the live action because Gin was present at the Baratie, and told us about how ruthless the Grand Line is along with showing Sanji cooking him a meal for free That conflict was replaced by Arlong being present earlier in the story on the Live Action, which is great, the reveal of Nami's tattoo and her saving Luffy's life were all great additions to me Mihawk being contacted by Garp was also a very cool ideia to better tie his presence in the East blue, because let's face it, there wasn't any reasonable explanation for a man of his calibre to be there, Garp call improved the logic of the situation, and it makes sense since the Shichibukai were basically corsairs, they had to follow marines orders (although Mihawk only obliged because he was curious) You just have to remember that the live action show isn't the anime or the manga, it's a different show, telling a similar story, It's like the Spider Man movies, each version of the story was told differently, but that dosen't make any of them less of a Spider Man movie, as the multiple comics all telling stuff slightly or majorly different from each other, that's the way I see it

Now that I see this again if I was in that guys shoes and my whole crew was starving on boat and about to die. And I go into a restaurant where people are hesitant to feed me then how can I trust them to feed 500 more people. I will have to do the same thing as him. Like u gotta take the restaurant hostage for it to be possible instead of relying on their kindness and who will feed pirates out of kindness. So like now I see why he didn't act the kindest after gaining back energy.

So yeah - they cut Don Krieg in the Live Action version to being killed by Mihawk but kept Ghin because, as someone else put it "We hate Don Krieg but we love Ghin'. He jsut really needs to think more about who he works for next time.

So I don't know if you remember in the Live Action, but Garp said that he was offered the position of Fleet Admiral, meaning he'd be the top dog in all of the Marines if he said yes. Instead, he decided to keep a position 2 notches lower as Vice Admiral because he wouldn't get much oversight or scrutiny for what he was doing.

"Hawk Eye" is mostly a nickname similarly to how some call Luffy "Strawhat". Mihawk has eyes that look like a Hawks, thus 'Hawkeye" or "Taka no me" (Eye of Hawk)

Almost every big name in the One Piece World has an ephitet like Monkey D. "Strawhat" Luffy, "Thousand plans" Kuro, Buggy "the Clown", Dracule "Hawkeye" Mihawk. (Don't ask me why I put the names in that order - it just felt right :D) BTW all of the strawhats will get an ephitet.

The SBS portion of this is a great addition. I have not read all of them and get to hear some new things :) This 20 favorite characters list must have been done in 1998 I guess? It's still hard to believe Koby was ranked so low. At least he beat Helmeppo! I'll wager that as the list of characters balloons outward his ranking will be much better based on % of the total #, though top 18 is tough to maintain with several hundred to choose from. TBH I don't think even every member of the straw hat pirates is in the top 18 anymore in the more recent lists. Some of the non-main characters are absolutely fantastic!

No way they didn't put Krieg in the Live-Action, maybe he's not a memorable rival captain, but he's a important character by the simple fact his fleet was decimate by Mihawk, he is there basically to build Mihawk status for the public. His fight with Zoro wasn't as impressive as destroying 50 ships. I would even go beyond and say that Krieg is not that much weaker than Arlong.
