The longer the series goes the more i also believe Mihawk is top 2 in the verse. Shanks comes close but the title is not given for fun. If Shanks was indeed stronger like everybody in this stupid fandom believe than he would have been given the title. Why would Zoro strive for a dream that is fake? Makes no sense at all.

To be fair, in the marineford arc, he didn't sweat for the whole war, not a single scratch, didn't use any named attacks and those were just random swings. Hell, he even pulled off with a single swing in 0,5 seconds the same feat Zoro will do later agains Pica in Dressrosa. If all of this is not enough to put him in the same level of some of the yonkos, i don't know what the hell it is then. Ah but wait, now there will be half of the fanbase that will say that Mihawk is weak because he's "apparently" under Buggy.....xD

Yeah I realized Mihawk is stronger because Shanks became popular due to his duels with Mihawk. He has the title during Rogers age too. Meaning Shanks must have lost duels or stalemated with Mihawk due to Mihawk still having the title. Some say Shanks Haki gives him an edge but every top tier swordsman uses haki. Also Zoro has advanced Conquerors so what makes people think Mihawk doesn't have it. He just definitely has haki on par with Shanks.

Powerscaling never works because the character is as powerful as the plot requires at the moment. Everything within the vague limits of reason. During Marineford, Mihawk was weaker than Yonko. Whitebeard was the only reason Mihawk showed up. It turned out that commanders were able to engage in combat with him. When Mihawk will fight Zoro, I am convinced that this Mihawk will be Yonko level. During Marineford, most of the characters showed nothing. Why? Because there was not enough space. Where was the awakening of the Doflamingo fruit, for example? Why was Kizaru doing almost nothing? Because there was no place to show the strength of three admirals at once.

I had always thought MiHawk to be Yonko level strength, just that he didnt have a crew, so he wasnt a Yonko. That has been proven to be in line with 1056. Now that MiHawk is part of a crew, that crew is considered one of the four Yonko. Even though Buggy is the face and label of that Yonko crew, we know the one that holds the strength is MiHawk.

I think he’s equal to yonkos atleast. As part of the og warlords, blackbeard and mihawk are obviously the strongest members. Wanna see conq coat slashes that would be op. I can assume that dragon is equal or above yonkos coz of his epithet

People hate when others talk about this unspoken rule in one piece. The later or less you appear and less abilities you show, the stronger you actually are.

Ppl also wank Oden for cutting Kaido and fighting Gabban as an equal which we assume is the Sanji of pirate kings crew . We hype up Oden as one of the strongest and I think we can assume that Zoro is close to that now, but he's not close to Mihawk which should tell you how strong he actually is. Ofcourse he's yanko lvl atleast.

people need to acknowledge that the title : ''strongest xxx'' is by far more prestigious than yonko title. look the list: prime white beard - strongest man prime kaido - strongest creature mihawk (who is currently in his prime)- strongest swordman i honestly can not understand someone who downplays mihawk. that having absolutely no crew just do whatever the fuck he wants whenever he wants in the most dangerous sea.

For some reason people stop using basic logic when seeing Mihawks strength in the context of the story and underestimate him I think its because he didnt immediately try to destroy everyone at marine ford war.

I agree that Mihawk is Yonk level - no doubt. That said, using the "Strongest Swordsman" title doesn't work IMO. Whitebeard = Strongest Man in the World. Whitebeard died. What did Oda mean by this? Kaido = The Strongest Creature. Kaido loses. What did Oda mean by this? Roger = King of the Pirates. Nobody bowed to him and he didn't have crown. What did Oda mean by this? All joking aside, I don't think that titles are absolute.

He had turned his sword blade last one to do that was ryuma iam not saying he is comparable to ryuma by any means but shanks hadn't still achieved this only two permanent black blades

While I'll agree that Moria was far from his peak potential due to his own natural laziness and complacency I would argue that Crocodile wasn't weak even by a modern measure. I don't think he was on say Doflamingo's or Mihawk's level but still I think he suffered from simply being powerful but introduced too early (even his final defeat was kinda hokey but Luffy needed the win somehow). His devil fruit is pretty potent and his mastery of it seems to be fairly advanced (It could even be argued that his reducing of the palace area to sand through his dehydration ability could have been the earliest hints of Awakening.) He then immediately went to prison where he was tortured on the daily and in seastone cuffs at all times so he clearly wasn't training or getting stronger but still just rolled up into the Marineford War and held his own against some really top name players and even was the main reason that Luffy and Jinbei even escaped along with escaping from that same war uncaptured which says something since he wasn't really aligned with any of the big players so I doubt he just hopped a boat with the Whitebeard Pirates, Shanks or Mihawk. I know the video was about Mihawk and I do agree with most of your points and the ones I don't are basically semantics of "this character is as strong as they need to be for the story atm yada yada". I just think my boy Croc gets the short of the stick a lot.

I believe he and Shanks are the top 2 *known characters* in the current verse. If a Xebec clone shows up, or Imu is some crazy fighter from the Void Century, all bets are off.

Part 1: He has nothing to offer any faction so they have no reason to attack him. Marines probably hired him as a Shichibukai so he won't hunt Marines (most likely lower tier Marines). When Marines dissolved the Warlord system, they went after him and he fled to Cross Guild. Part 2: Luffy over Zoro is possibly more so than Roger over Rayleigh. Luffy got the Nika fruit, Roger didn't. Luffy also has possibly the most potent haki. Who's to say that if Zoro were to reach Prime Rayleigh's level he would have long surpassed Mihawk at that time? Zoro is trying to become the best swordsman, not the strongest pirate/fighter coz that will be Luffy. Mihawk is only a swordsman. Part 3: Shanks/Mihawk duel was never mentioned to be Legendary. People have misread the speech bubble. Whitebeard was talking about his era 20 years ago as legendary along with Roger, Garp and Sengoku. One-armed Shanks will beat Mihawk with haki. Also, don't underestimate his sword skills just coz he lost his favored arm. Being friendly with each other allows Mihawk to throw taunts at Shanks within Shanks' crew with no repercussions. That is not a measure of strength. Different translations had Shanks being the superior with words like "settle things" or "challenge me." Is there anywhere that says Mihawk beat Shanks? It's possible Shanks let Mihawk take that title as he will go after a higher title of Yonko. Yonko > Swordsman. Mihawk never commanded awe and respect like Shanks has. Shichibukai with a bounty less than Shanks, inferior showings of haki (not much at all), was not seen by Kaido as one of the strongest pirates (Shanks was), S-Bear (Kuma) fighting stronger duo of Luffy/Lucci in comparison to S-Hawk (Mihawk) fighting the weaker duo of Zoro/Kaku implying Kuma>Mihawk, Yonko (pirate) > Swordsman (pirate). It's pretty clear so far. Weak video, no substance just a lot of Mihawk fluff hyperbole using Shanks and Zoro to prop him up. We'll see soon enough in the manga.

So if oden could have had fought kaido equally 20 years ago and if he didnt die..he would have been as strong as kaido is now..and mihawk is for sure more talented than oden , so now on if oden would have been as strong as kaido..mihawk is probably even stronger than him..and there is a reason why mihawk is called the strongest swordsmen and not shanks..mihawk without a doubt is in top 5..dragon akainu shanks mihawk and blackbeard are probably those people

you bringing up the boat point really makes no sense because admirals dont evne patorol the seas like that and shanks wouldnt even just fight mihawk for no reason and most of the yonkos, and your bringing up the marine point like he wasnt a warlord, marines dont attack warlords

Blackbeard(because he willl be Luffy's final pirate opponent and it makes sense narritavely) 3. and 4. Kaido or Luffy (I can't decide between them based on the "if Kaido was fresh" he would beat G5 Luffy argument) 4. Mihawk 5. Big Mom 6. Akainu 7. Dragon etc....

Mihawk is credited with the strongest thrust just for being the strongest swordsman in the world, Shirohige had a naginata, which means that Mihawk's cutting ability was greater than Shirohige himself, even so Shirohige was considered without a doubt the strongest character. After Shirohige followed Kaido, as the strongest creature. If we follow the logic that everything is because of the haki, then Mihawk would have a stronger haki than Shirohige. But the reality is that it is not like that, Shirohige for all his character construction, had a more powerful haki than Mihawk, whether you like it or not, Mihawk in the end will not be the same or stronger than Shirohige or Kaido. I think how they approach the haki, the will in their attacks is what makes the difference in the fighting styles. Mihawk specialized in cutting what gets through, but Shirohige didn't, it wasn't a necessity for him, he had more versatility. Based on that, it would be necessary to know what else Shanks uses his haki for and what else he adds to his fighting style, because Mihawk can only be a reference when it comes to the sword.

Mihawk is relative to Shanks but no way he’s stronger. Yes Shanks uses a sword but I think it’s more a conduit for his haki usage more than anything, same with roger. If they were equal in haki, then yes Mihawk would probably be stronger due to the greater sword skills. But I’m not taking Mihawk over characters like Shanks, WB, Roger, Imu, Rocks. Honestly don’t know for sure if I’d confidently say I’d take him over Kaido or Dragon yet either. And the boat thing is overrated. He’s a warlord, so no one was really hunting him like that.

I dont think the crew argument is relevant in any way. Most commanders are literally worthless compared to their leader. Look at how queen got clapped by big mom instantly. There are only a handful of commanders that are in any way relevant, those being: zoro, marco, ben beckman and rayleigh, the others arent even remotely a factor on how powerful a yonko tier character even is. Even if you look at someone like crocodile, none of his agents are even a threat but crocodile himself is the threat. Also mihawk isnt as strong as shanks, shanks is stronger than whitebeard when he fought at marineford and even mihawk was wondering how far the distance between him and whitebeard was, which suggests that by mihwaks own estimate sick marineford whitebeard should be stronger.

Mihawk is a mentor of zoro as Shanks is a mentor of luffy. The rivalry between Shanks and Mihawk is like rivalry between WB and Roger. If zoro will yonko level at the end of the serie, Mihawk must be yonko level because Mihawk and zoro will have a fight and Zoro will kill Mihawk and become the best swordman and the King of hell at the same time.

He's suppose to be Zoro's biggest challenge as a swordsman. So he's probably going to be Admiral level probably. During Marineford he said he wasn't gonna hold back and did a pretty impressive slash that was stopped by Jozu. But like others have said, that was then and if Oda wants to make him hype, he's gonna have to make him at least that strong so we get an epic clash.

According to Mihawk Tards, Mihawk, AND ofcourse Zoro is stronger than 10 rogers and 2 gokus at the same time. Heck. Zoro can slice planets in half. He was not even half the power of Luffy gear 5 god level haki, but what the heck. This is Zoro piece, where Zoro will grow 4 times the speed so that in the end he is stronger than Luffy, and he is the key to One piece. Then Zoro and Mihawk save the world ahd everyone will thank them and tell them noone is stronger than them. Thats exactly how it will go. Ask ANY Zoro/Mihawk tard.
