Thanks for this thorough review of the tent. I saw one of your previous videos and ended up purchasing the green (upgraded nylon) one last year. I'm very happy with the purchase. On its 'maiden adventure' my tent was exposed to 2 days' worth of heavy rain and it performed amazingly well. No water inside. Miraculous for a $200 tent (CAD). Thanks for continuing to share your knowledge with us! OK, essay's over. 😉

Nice video. I got the Cloud 1 UP tent this year and although I have only spent a few nights in it I am really pleased with it, especially for the price! But after seeing your videos I regret a bit not getting the 2 UP to allow extra storage. (But not enough to replace the 1 UP!)

Hi Mike. As always, a great video. Inspired by your first review of this tent, I decided to look up Naturehike. Ended up bying the Star River Ultralight 2 model. And boy am I happy with it! Two side doors, good roof hight, relatively light weight and good value for money. My Helsport tent, at almost 4 X the price, is heading for an early retirement... PS. Det ska va gott å leva :-)

Hi Mike. Its a great tent for the lightweight camper. I've used mine on my recent mini tour / overnight bike trip in The Peak District. I did make a couple of videos about the trip on my channel. I have the 20D Army Green one, and its perfect for wild camps. Mine fits snugly in my handlebar tube bag, including poles, in fact I also have my Trekology UL80 mattress in there as well. Good luck with the next trip. All the best Mike.

I bought the green one, after seeing it here ( or Rides of Japan, can't remember). Weighs in at about 4lbs. Hard to beat the weight to price ratio. I just stuff mine in to a waterproof dry bag, and the poles go in my fame bag. Great tent. Not the most subtle green, but not too bad for stealth. On my second year with it, and so far, so good. I would like a side opening tent, so maybe when this one finally wears out. Great video.

Just picked this up for backpacking in the UK, a mix of wild camping overnights and longer hikes (3-10 days) but I'm building up to doing a much longer hike too (the South West Coast Path, over 800 miles!) I might need a lighter tent for that, maybe a Lanshan, but we'll see - in the meantime I'm so excited to get out and about with my new tent! I'm a solo female hiker and I can sometimes feel a bit vulnerable, so it's really important to me to have my own little home to settle into after a long day of hiking. For that reason, some of the more bivvy-style tents really didn't appeal. But on the other hand, I have joint issues and need to keep an eye on my base weight. I'm also on a limited budget. This tent really did tick all boxes, and I'm delighted to hear that it's worked out well for you!

That’s awesome…..not sure if you did your long hike, if so. Hope you enjoyed it. I’m currently planning to do my first longish hike, the west highland way…96miles. I’m fit enough but been wearing my pack more for training and it is NOT easy pounding the miles out with the weight on my back. Have another couple of months before I’m going to attempt it so should be grand by then. How have you found this tent for longer distant treks? Could you give Any advice on how to prep for long distance walks?? Cheers. Mark, Belfast

nice video. I got a dirt cheap tent frome Decathlon 299 Sekr, uppgraded it with aluminium poles i already got. with glassfiber it weigths 2.4kg , i think im just under 2 kg, it have hold for heavy winds on Öland ;). This is of course not for long tripps in the wild ;). I put the money in a classy sleeping pad. This cloud 2 looks very interesting.

Great view and love that you have used it for a long time first and gave your reviews. I am not sure if this is an issue, but it is with my tarp I use for my hammock setup. I have a light grey tarp and a dark green one and the light grey one lets so much light in, it becomes very bright in the morning, making it harder to sleep. This is why I use the dark green one for sleeping and the light grey one I setup somewhere else when I am awake to sit under. Thanks again for your thoughts. Last question, this review is now a year old, would you buy a different model of a 2 person Naturehike tent or still this one if you were shopping today?

I have the single man version of the same tent and like it pretty much what it comes to warm/mild season use. I also hope they would have made lower half of the door of non-mesh material for better windkeeping. All in all you cover the pros and cons of this tent nicely, let me just add that the provided pegs are quite tiny and therefore not so reliable in loose ground. Is your older tent a Bergans, looks just like mine?
@genkishan
@genkishan Жыл бұрын
Great review! Sounds like a great tent for 1p plus a backpack and stuff, a YKK zipper maybe has the name but it's not always 100% reliable. I wanted to ask about condensation and ventilation when the door is zipped closed, also how does it perform when windy. is it possible to sit inside and not touching the top of the tent? Since the lentgh is shorter than the specs guess a Regualr size183cm sleeping pad is the best bet. Did you have any wear and tear yet that needed any patchwork?

Oh man hopefully we can claim the title of the best budget backpacking tent. As far as we know, we are the only tent on Amazon that weighs less than 3 lbs, is freestanding, and only costs $99. All other freestanding tents either cost more, or are heavier than 3lbs. See you on the trails!

According to Naturehike website there is "210T Green" version which has the inferior polyester material, but "20D Olive green" and "20D Mustard green" have the same better nylon material as Mike's gray tent.

@@BikeTouringMike Furthermore please consider including a link to the German Amazon store in the video description. For us living in the EU it is better place to order than UK or US Amazon. No extra taxes and in some cases the shipping is free. That being said unfortunately the 20D Olive green version is currently out of stock in the German Amazon.

I mostly agree with you, but here you missed one point : the possibility to put up the tent when it's raining, I have an army tent (belgian para commando) which I can set up in the rain and my inner tent is never wet, I lately bought a trekking tent which is lighter has 2 entrances on the sides, is dark green, weights only 1.6 kg but is not freestanding, on the plus side you can put it up in the rain as the inner tent is attached to the outer tent (you can make it loose if you want) but setting up take no more than 5 minutes. I tried it in the garden and was really pleased. The ground sheed have to be done again, I told you before I had it made by a sailmaker I know, as he made a super job for the first I will ask him to make a new one for my new tent.

Oh, that is exactly a model what i bought last summer. I used it for a camping in the woods until now, and the weather was just the best, so i dont know, how suitable it can be for something more hard and serious. The fabric is so thin, that i breathe cautiously inside this tent not to tear it:). I am going to use it for a more long camping next summer, but this is going to be Karelia in July or august, so conditions aren't going to be severe again.

Hi Mike, I first slept in this tent a couple of days ago. When i woke up there was lots of condensation on the tent fly even though the vent was open and the fly staked. How is condensation for you with this tent? And do you have any tips to decrease it? P. S. I slept with my head in the back. I much prefer that position since when i get up from that position my hoead is already in the right position facing the door. Getting up at night was no problem for me.
