I was the same way Shea! My dad was the Pastor if a large black church in the middle of the hood but I went to all white private schools. When I went to church I was too white and when I went to school I was too black. I now see what my parents were doing because I can adapt to any situation now and I can thrive in any environment.

Wow, this really spoke to my heart because I can relate on the religious aspect. I went to catholic school for 2 yrs, but I grew up Baptist. So Catholic during the week, Baptist on Sunday and Saturday was a free day I guess..lol But when I got grown I converted to Rastafarianism, then Orthodox Islam, and I have been a Muslim for 11 years. When I converted you would have thought the world was coming to an end! My family damn near disowned me. And so I completely understand why it's hard to tell them certain things about the religion you are in if it's not theirs. I don't try to convert them because its against Islam, Allah makes muslims and he puts people where he wants them to be and what's right for them. When Mike mentioned Ifa the 1st time on the show, I began to study and learn for my own knowledge, not necessarily to convert. We all need to respect the Most Highs wishes, and learn and grow from one another, instead of putting it down. Great content guys!👍🏾

Growing up in Christianity, I have the same sentiments as Mike. As I got older I started to have a desire to know what our ancestors did as far as spirituality is concerned. I wanted to know what they did before the bible got into our hands. Seeing old pictures of grown black men slaves sitting on the floor like little children surrounding a white man reading the bible to them. Really did something to me. It's time for me to call upon the ancestors for help and guidance and that is where my heart is now.
