I worked at Fuller Seminary and was shocked with the number of incoming MDiv students didn't believe in Genesis account of creation, but rather belived in evolution. Very troubling. Time for the church to repent and ask the Lord to restore the nation.

A lot of pastors today don’t have any formal biblical training. I’m not sure if these people were idiots but they really should have looked for and joined a Pentecostal/charismatic church instead of thinking they had to start their own.

These are probably sincere people who thought they were being led by God. It's not right to call them idiots. Jesus said if you say , "you fool!" (Basically the same meaning as idiot) then you would be guilty of hell fire It doesn't matter if it's a legal term. That doesn't excuse sin

much more than saying "you fool" - "Whoever insults his brother or sister will be subject to the court." Are the people teaching a false gospel and "prophesying" out of their own foolish imaginations God's children? Fools? Lost?

The problem is the “God told me” not the lack of “formal education.” You do realize that most “formally educated” pastors don’t believe charismatic doctrines. In addition, most can’t agree on mode of baptism, let alone the meaning of baptism. The majority deny the finality of the work of Christ. So, if I join a church and the ThD pastor tells me I’m saved by baptism, but only by sprinkling, and then I have to obey the Ten Commandments to remain saved… I can’t say he’s wrong because he’s “formally educated.” I realize the Lord is the Lord, by he was accused by “lettered” men of “having no letters.” Peter and John were noted to be “uneducated.” Paul was formally educated, but did not understand scripture. There is nothing wrong with a formal education as long as you let them rub it on the outside and don’t swallow any of it. Back to the first point, the charismatic movement is built on “God Told Me,” if that’s true, you gotta pick one or the other.

You don’t know very many charismatic or Pentecostal pastors. I personally know about 2 dozen who have masters degrees from seminary and one lady who has a doctorate.
