I bought the exact same bike a year ago. I also changed the chain ring to the same colour narrow wide as yours. I am building a new wheel set using gold rims, black hubs, and silver spokes and I'll fit something like your tyres to them. Those slicks are deadly when it's loose or damp. I'll keep the originals for my grandson when I'm too old to ride it.

Nice looking bike out the box even bro. If I did not already have a lot of bikes or had alot of money to speed I would definitely hop on that Se Fat Ripper 2022 with the Miami colors that thing is fire🔥out the box✊😎.

Really weird that SE bikes mounted an inferior chain ring on this new FR .... You would expect them to Evolve and not end up with an inferior setup compared to last year.

I heard that They just wanted to put it out. I guess narrow wide chain rings weren’t available in time. The year before they had them

@TINNINBMX I have this exact bike the Mike Buff 45th Anniversary Edition. I've dropped my chain a lot flipping up rapidly several gears at a time to #10. I noticed that when the bike is in #10 the chain line is quite extreme so I was considering swapping the chainring to the other side of the mounting lugs to line it up a bit better. So the RaceFace chainring fixes that issue? Did you say it had narrow/wide teeth? That sounds kinda weird. Can you please confirm the type/model? Cheers from OZ (69 yo newbie 😎to Rippers)

Yes you need a narrow wide chain ring 104bcd how ever many teeth you want. I believe I’m running 32teeth.. It won’t drop anymore after you get it.

Do you think 10" bars would be to big? Or much different from the 9.75's?

Is it just because the stock chainring was no good. What type of chainring did you switch up to that was better then the stock one? Plus what does the profile hub do the back tire?

The stock chain ring on the mike buff version isn’t a drop stop so sometimes when going through the gears the chain will come off of the sprocket. I switched to a raceface narrow wide chain ring and haven’t had the issue since

@@davidcalci974 it changes it tremendously. It’s smoother and you roll a lot further than a stock hub. Also you don’t waste energy because there is no slack in between pedals so once you start pedaling all that energy is going into driving you forward. Where with a stock hub you lose energy because there’s empty space between when you start pedaling and the hub locks up to push you forward. Hopefully that makes sense. Oh and it sounds amazing when you ride.

@@TinnManPRODUCER I didn’t know the profile hub would eliminate the slop. It’s my first geared bike ever, the first thing I noticed was how bad the engagement wss

@@waferzworld yes that’s the whole reason for getting a profile. The points of engagement. Making it so you aren’t wasting pedal energy. And rolling much further.
