Old Age Security. WHY NO DISABLED security? Why does a senior get more money than me, a disabled Canadian? I paid into my pension, since thirteen years old, for over twenty five years without a choice! Relying on my pension while disabled has proven detrimental. I can rent a room, I only spend money on food. There are months I run out of food. The 200 benefit would certainly help me, but I'm not DISABLED enough to qualify for DTC. So it won't be helping me any! What a shock and surprise! The government gives just enough, to not perish. No one helps me survive, let alone thrive!

This has been so horrible. To think I’m might “be lifted out of poverty “ only to be so let down. I hope they’re tracking how many disabled people are applying for MAID instead of living in poverty

i am not a supporter of the green party but i can stand behind you on this one. the disability benefit should be available to anyone disabled regardless of spousal income because financially relying on others even a spouse is undignified and people with disabilities should be financially independent.

" finacially independent "?? How does taking taxes from hard working ppl that are already taxed to death and giving it to the disabled earning a living? There are way too many ppl on disability that don't need it...get a job and take care of yourself like everyone else...

@@WaningGibbous I am disabled from a work place injury just like many others so your statement is unfair. I can however agree the ones abusing it should be weeded out and kicked off.

This is VERY disturbing. Its not a big secret that people on Ontario Disability need a minimum of an additional $1000 a month. So $1000 + $1300 just pays out the same as it was 25 - 30 years ago.

It does seem performative on the Liberals part. The liberals get votes from the people (under FPTP) based on being the 'lesser of two evils' (with the Conservatives.) So long as the Conservatives are completely unwilling to do more on a subject... The Liberals realize they don't have to try. They can throw out a pittance that even they acknowledge is not enough, and be like 'The other side won't even give you that.'

Thanks for your tireless help for the disabled!!! It’s really been disheartening, I’m 62 and thought I would get a little more like cost of living wage. I’m really disappointed with all the political moves.

I would recommend all mpp’s and Justin to live on a disability pension for one year, not being able to access any of their assets and not being able to borrow from banks or anyone. They would quickly understand the financial hardships people with disabilities go thru. Have them use wheelchairs, lifts for transfers, have someone bathe them and wipe their bums. Life can be extremely difficult and undignified for many people with disabilities without having to struggle with finances to survive with a roof over your head and food on the table. Not everyone has the same level of disability(ies) but none are pleasant, wanted, dignified, …. Just because one cannot see a wheelchair, a missing arm or legs, doesn’t make the disabled person less worthy of a pension. Mental health for one cannot always be very obvious to anyone but often can be more debilitating than one in a wheelchair or missing limbs.

This continues the policy of keeping people with disabilities in legislated poverty at both the provincial and federal levels. less than 1% of the people with disabilities will ever see any money from this. I will continue to live on $13,750 a year. I save $200 by continuing to use the food bank exclusively for my food source.

I'm in America and live on close to the amount you mentioned. Even when given food assistance such as food banks it is not fair to have to survive on so little. I feel better that I'm not alone. I'm praying for a universal basic income most of all 🙏

I'm on vacation for one week in the wealthiest country, and I literally had to see numerous disabled people in wheelchairs begging in the streets and holding up signs asking for food and other assistance. This is in the heart of music city in the state of Tennessee here in America 🇺🇸 If this isn't unbelievable and doesn't tell you something about the government, then I don't know what else to say 💔 We desperately need a universal basic income for everyone here and it is being ignored by the government!

We, the working ppl are taxed to death.I'm 60 and working every day to earn around 2400 a month, why should I support someone who can't take care of themselves?? Why is it my responsibility ??? I'm sick of it, that and welfare.

Don’t forget the grants for Ev’s. Stalantis ,VW and Honda last week. They have money for business but nothing from me I’m just a slug😂
