For six years Chef Emma Hearst and Managing partner Sarah Krathen ran this lovely Italianish spot on what was back then a very dicey mixed use stretch of The Lower East Side on Allen St a few doors down from a tire repair shop. Next store they had a tiny gelateria called Stellina.
Native New Yorkers and friends since their childhoods growing up on The Upper East Side, Chefs Daniel Holzman and Michael Chernow opened this first location of The Meatball Shop on Stanton Street in 2010 on The Lower East Side. Who knew that with a menu of just meatballs served in a variety of ways, they would have a huge hit on their hands and be packed from day #1.

I do very much enjoy these but I really wish Mike would make some new/updated shows. These are all very old and many of the places featured have long since closed. I LOVE his The Bite segments on CreateTV.

Mike - why did this show stop airing new episodes on PBS? This is my brother in laws favorite show , so thank you for uploading to KZfaq. Also, are you going to be making new episodes just for KZfaq?

Kirk , Mike, No disrespect intended; I am not blessed with good eyesight and need to view on a very large TV. The bit-rates on your recent uploads have been very low. Thus to me pretty much unwatchable on the large TV I need. At least 3000KBPS is required for me (have learned this over the years) and you recents are closer to 1000 :( Thanks for your kindness in uploading even if i cant watch them although I'd guess they are fine for those who have good eyesight and watch on their phones.
