I’m a Kendrick fan who wants the old K Dot back . But at the same time , after Damn he gave us the Black Panther soundtrack , He wrote Win and other bangers for Jay Rock on his last album Redemption , he wrote Numb Numb Juice and 5200 for School Boy , he wrote Baby Keem’s verse on Family Ties . Kendrick been putting in work behind the scene .

It feel like Kendrick is on some other shit now like his focus isn't rapping or spitting bars, punchlines or wordplay anymore on a level of a Benny The Butcher, a Griselda, a Dave East, or even a J. Cole . Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers was his last conceptual album, so the route he's about to take now is questionable. That song he dropped with Baby Keem "The Hillbillies" wasn't his best, the vibe was catchy but that's it. I've heard better from Kendrick before, even his verse on "Family Ties" was better than his verse on "The Hillbillies" and even on there he got our hopes up by saying "he's smoking on our top 5" which led to most of us (his fans) believing that his next album "Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers" was gonna be him talking his shit on there and actually getting back to the bars, but instead we got a whole therapy session which was cool, but definitely not his best like how did he let Kodak outrap him on "Silent Hill". TPAB & GKMC are still his best albums to me and I find myself going back to them 2 albums the most out of the rest of his discography. GKMC because it is more accessible and TPAB because of the message. DAMN was cool too, but DUCKWORTH, FEAR, DNA & FEEL are really the only 4 songs I bump often from that album. At this point J. Cole may definitely have the 1 up on Kendrick because he's stayed active over the years in between dropping albums and constantly sharpened his pen, that is why Cole consistently kills his features the way he does. Kendrick's verse on Beyonce's recent song was ass and is probably the 1st time I was underwhelmed with a Kendrick verse. I think now Kendrick is comfortable and that he doesn't have anything else to prove. After he won the pulitzer prize, in which he should've won for either GKMC or TPAB instead of DAMN, he just ain't had that hunger in him no more. To me Kendrick's prime was from 2012-2015. It's truly sad because I am a huge Kendrick fan, but also as a fan I'm not gonna dickride and act like what I've heard from Kendrick lately, I've 100% enjoyed including the snippet that was just played at the Chanel ceremony. I want the "Control Verse", "The Heart Pt. IV", "Cartoons & Cereal" "Rigamortis", "Black Friday", "Mona Lisa", "Holy Key" & "Nosetalgia" Kendrick back. Just like J. Cole put out an album where he was talking his shit on it which was "The Off Season", Kendrick needs to drop his shit talking album to prove to people he ain't to be fucked with with a little bit of storytelling on there like he did on SAMIDOT, How Much a Dollar Cost? & DUCKWORTH.

Kendrick next album is crucial he gotta to go back to the raw rapping 7 years after damn the closest we got to that was N95 and family ties . Mr morale had good writing but he didn’t focus heavy on the bar work. J Cole off-season is literally what j cole was talking about getting better and how you got sharpen your skills as mc and flex Kendrick needs something like that

Sounds like Kendrick was inspired by Adele’s music. Because if you replace her vocals with his, one would think it was just another new Adele song. Nothing special with this new track, bye Kendrick🙄.

I hate to admit when y’all are right about Kendrick, but y’all are right. I never thought Kendrick was top 10, but the projections for his career is what made him have top 10 potential. The fact that a Kendrick Lamar song is even being premiered at Paris Fashion week tells me all I need to know about where K Dot is headed with his career. And Punch from TDE needed to be punched for saying we don’t deserve another Kendrick album. However, I still stand on points I made about keeping the same energy for Drake. We keep talking about Kendrick not having a dope project in 7 years but we continue to give Drake passes for pretty much the same thing. When’s the last time we had a Drake project worth talking about? IYRTITL? That’s damn near 10 years ago. My stance has always been keep the same energy for Canada Dry if he’s hip hop. He of all people should not be pointing out privileged rap shit. Drake has dropped mid project after mid project. He’s arguably the most privileged rapper on the planet.

Mike nailed it about Kendrick. Got too much too soon and lost the hunger. Kendrick has been so bad recently , i can't even listen to his material from 2010 to 2016 that I really liked. DAMN was cool but lyrically it didn't stand out to me. I don't go back to that album. And what's crazy about Black Thought he got inspired by Kendrick when he performed Blue Faces at the Jimmy Fallon show . That's what energized Black Thought and he started going crazy. It's to the point I don't even want to hear anything from Kendrick unless he's live with a band. It's almost like the live band forces him to operate in his natural element of lyricism and energy. He has plenty of examples of how his ability turns all the way up with that live band. But outside of that. He can keep everything he's put out the last 7 years.

Sounds like you were never a fan to begin with. Mr morale may not have been all the way amazing but how that means you cannot listen to anything Kendrick’s made anymore due to a period of being uninspired is INSANE. Kendrick’s still him, if he gets it back watch what he does…

I can quote so many Kendrick lines from the 2010 to 2012 era easily from features to his projects. Kendrick has become ALL TALK . He's artistically arrogant & selfish. And it's because of the media/fans aiding that mindset Mr Morale could've been done in 7 songs ... It didn't need to be a "double album" He was talking so big before the album dropped. Smoking on top 5's in 2021... It's 2024 and all he did was go to therapy, denounce trying to be a "leader" so he can make his wack quirky music with Baby Keem Then hop on a song with Beyonce saying go stink go stink and taking these weak jabs at Drake. Then that silly Hillbillies stuff... We've been saying "when Kendrick decides to pop out" for a long time now. Not accepting that he's garbage right now and not calling out his bs will only make his behaviour worse How can he be hungry when his ass keeps getting kissed and coddled from any criticism? He's talked too much sh*t to not back it up

@@romaretaylor9953yea the people throwing the baby out with the bath water when it comes to Kendrick’s entire career definitely were not real fans. If you feel everything he’s released in the last 7 years was mid, that’s cool. But to shit on everything before that just lets me know you were never a real fan. Kendrick did not miss on any of those projects between 2010-2017
