Floor's voice just creates a harmonic with your heart strings. She sings, and automatically tears start welling in your eyes. Sometimes you don't even realize they're there until you feel one start down your cheek. Nightwish doesn't make music... they create magic.

This song is one of my absolute favorites of the new album. The message is so beautiful: kindness, caring and love. Tuomas wrote second verse ("We met where the cliff greets the sea...) to honor Floor. I like both versions. The album version has a steady "hard rock" beat and the acoustic version is more emotional due the intimate setting. Floor's big note at the end broke all my glasses 😅. Troy sings the lead in "Harvest" from the new album. There are lyric videos of all the tracks (which is outstanding fan service from them). Thank you!

I mean, We ALL know that Floor is the best singer probably on the planet right now.... But when you here her, just Her all stripped down and just her crisp, clean vocals it's just breathtaking and almost unbelievable that a human being could sound so perfect ❤️ !!! I think some of the Angels just stopped flying and sat on a cloud to listen 🙌 !!! And huge shout out to Troy ! What a brilliant, accomplished, talented musician and vocalist ! His deep baritone voice runs like melted butter all around her beautiful voice !!! I have seen this so many times, but I still am in awe of the PURE performance ! There's no way to hide flaws in a stripped down number like that, but not to worry....they have NO FLAWS ! Perfection.

The acoustic version of this song is pure gold. I love the look on Troy's face at the very end when he rocks back in the chair with a big smile on his face. He realized what they had just laid down and knew it was awesome. And for her to sing that powerfully, with such control, while seated is even more amazing. That is not easy. Great reaction. Love to see you do Nemo and the Nemo/acoustic back to back.

Did you already see Elan? It's in a similar lighter vein. The music video is good for that one, Floor looks like a cabaret singer.

Thank you for doing both versions back to back. 😊 On this album Tuomas took full advantage of having three great singers who kill it on the harmonies. The ending of the original version gives me goosebumps every time. And yes your heard Troy mostly in the harmonies before. But the male vocals you liked in "Shoemaker" were his, so you at least heard a little bit from him. If you wanna hear a song with him in the lead I suggest "Harvest" again. A very different sound for Nightwish but also very good. A great one with all three singing is "My Walden". It's also another one with a folky touch to it with pipes, low whistle and everything.

You'll need to start listening to Floor singing in last year's Beste Zangers. Her versatility shines through. This show out of the Netherlands let her home country know about her and made her the #1 artist of 2019 there. My recommended starting point would be Mama or Winner. If you do watch them, use the versions posted by jenniezelf. She has the intros and outros translated into English.

Off course Nightwish is a favourite band as well. Almost feel like Nightwish is Nitghtwish and then comes the rest..... If you want to hear Troy sing the leadpart listen to "Harvest" from the "Human Nature" album!

Thank you for doing this side by side comparison. Like almost every Nightwish song, the live performance brings something special not found on the studio version. You could do the same with the music video and concert versions of The Islander that features Marco (if you haven’t done so already ). Like the one you’ve just done, the live version is stripped down, making it quite different. This performance reminds me of MTV’s Unplugged concert series, one of the best series that channel ever produced.

I'm a fan of every member of Nightwish. If you haven't already, you'll hear from those who argue about whether Floor, Annette or Tarja is/was the best singer. It might be nice to play some songs from the other eras. Tarja had an operatic voice, Annette was pop, and Floor is whatever she wants to be. It's not about who's better, but about preference. Suggestions: Nightwish's homage to Pink Floyd's "High Hopes" (Marko sings. No female vocalist present); and "Phantom of the Opera" with Tarja and Marko. Thanks! Really enjoy your reactions.
