Under GM Mike Greer, I don’t see the Sharks contending for the Stanley Cup any time soon. Why is he hanging onto Erik Karlsson?

Good interview and look into the "mind" or brains behind the evolution of new Sharks team identity. Mike Grier disappointed me with the Brent Burns trade where I think he was too hasty and did not get enough return. Burns would now be in great demand as a supporting defenceman on any Stanley Cup contender and Sharks would have been delayed in their evolution by waiting for better deal, or so I speculate in hindsight. There was no need to rush into his trade as Grier did to "kick start" their team transformation earlier rather than later. Timing of any trade is a GM judgment call, but with Sharks losses piling up now there will be more pressure by fans to make even worse trades out of desperation.
