I'm glad Mike helped you back from the Darkside. This is one of my favourite sets/musicians/band to share with people of all backgrounds and languages. Mike's one of few musicians I rarely need a break from. In my opinion, it's perfect as background chill music, car rides, for dancing to and doing inner work on psychedelics. My kids, father and countless friends who hear me play this healing music can't get enough. It's such a blessing to have such a humble, grounded and spiritually mature musician channeling such incredible musical art to us all. Words from any language fail to do this masterpiece justice. I don't speak Tamashek, but Tinariwen, an African Tuareg band blew my mind at WOMAD, Adelaide, Australia in 2003 with their powerful live performance in full native tongue and I highly recommend them (especially that set on KZfaq). Mike has blown me away for years from recordings to live shows and I know countless people he's helped through good and bad times. I was blessed to see and meet him at a gig in Brisbane Australia in 2018 where he was losing his voice, but still wouldn't cancel the show. He even met everyone afterwards, even though he couldn't speak. A true warrior and legendary inspiration. This set will go down in history as one of the greatest from the 2010s. First heard "Permanent Holiday" on the radio over the speakers in the UH Hilo cafeteria in 2009. This was freshman year and it blew my mind what he could do. The looping beat and building the song over continual loops. Saw him live four times in my time on the big island and now I'm a lifelong fan.

@@szucsyp Yes he is amazing! When I saw him live the 1st time, drummer was the same but he also had the great hawaiian musician Paula Fuga with him. I'd recommend looking her up too, they all made an amazing band. Nice to think about those good times again :)

It's only a matter of time; i tell and share with everyone i know, even buy them CD's and tracks! Then those friends tell other friends. His message will spread, there's no stopping it! We'll be able to say, "I was listening to Mike back in the early days!!

Absolutely agree. My buddy practically begged me to go to a music/art festival with him last year so I obliged. Heard mike love live there for the first time ever hearing him. I was blown away by how good him and his band plays and sounds live. I liked hearing all the other musicians but mike loves music just stands out from the others. Speaks to me in a different way. He is an instrument of the divine.

I'll be heading up there next year for sure! I'm grateful to have caught Mike twice back in June. And am traveling to MD on my 40th bday this August to see him perform again. :)
