Better Call Saul is the prequel to the award-winning series Breaking Bad, set six years before Saul Goodman (Bob Odenkirk) became Walter White's lawyer. When we meet him, the man who will become Saul Goodman is known as Jimmy McGill, a small-time lawyer searching for his destiny, and, more immediately, hustling to make ends meet. Working alongside, and often against, Jimmy is "fixer" Mike Erhmantraut (Jonathan Banks), a beloved character introduced in Breaking Bad. The series will track Jimmy's transformation into Saul Goodman, the man who puts "criminal" in "criminal lawyer."

I love how the Salamanca’s almost have respect for people who match their craziness. Hector seemed to respect the fact that Mike was so brave, Lalo seemed to respect Gus and Mike when they outsmarted him, and Tuco respected Walter after he blew up his crib.

It still blows my mind that Mark Margolis took on the role of a speechless, wheel chair bound gangster (which was a unique acting challenge but limited) and then was able to come back years later and play him again in a different way. So awesome!

“How you manage to live so long with a mouth like that?” Crazy how it ends up being his mouth that gets him killed when he decides to tear down Walt’s Pride and hurt his ego.

I love how Hector just laughs. You can tell he's a strong man because his ego isn't bruised by Mike's hard negotiating, but instead he acknowledges that he's negotiating with a fellow man of strength. It's nothing but respect.

Mike knew they wouldn't kill him because it would create a time paradox

The only person that was capable killing these two men was some guy, at this point, teaching high school chemistry

The fact that Salamancas paid 7 million so that Lalo can flee from justice shows that 50,000 was really nothing, and Mike could have got even more.

"How you managed to live so long with a mouth like that" Gotta give it to Hector, he understood exactly the threat Mike posed.

I think Hector loves moments like this. The fact that he was able to bring Mike, an ex cop, down to this level; willing to bargain with a drug lord or go down in a blaze of glory. That he had dangerous men willing to jump to his defense, but who would stay put with just him barely lifting his fingers. He loved having that power over people.

R.I.P. Mark Margolis. A tremendous strength in cinema. Unmatched by most character actors.

People here asking why Hector allowed Mike to get away with this clearly need to watch the show again.
