Pennel had an amazing game. Dominant rep after dominant rep. That snap against Trent Williams...that doesn't happen to Williams. I've never seen him dominated like that.

To be fair to Trent, it does look like he gets his feet tripped up a bit but still a couple of absolutely dominant reps from Pennel

I don't see a lot of KC games, and I didn't know who Pennel was. He flashed several times immediately in the early game. I was watching alone at home with my wife (I can't stand SB parties with casuals talking over the game), and I said to her, "This guy is dominating. Who is he?" It's wild that he's a 10-year vet. I'm glad he got to live the dream and ball out in a Super Bowl victory. I was smiling so widely when I saw him throw Trent Williams. Wow. It's always good to see Beau. 🦅🦅🦅

So many teams lack depth and seriously tail off with the loss of players. Derek Nnadi is Chiefs run stopper who was lost during the playoffs. Pennell was their because Veach & staff knew he would be very helpful if there was a key injury. Difference between winners and losers.

He was essentially our injury replacement for Derrick nnadi. And in my opinion he immediately and obviously outplayed him, much like he did way back in our first playoff run. Pennel has been a fuckin beast against the run every time he’s suited up as a chief. It’s honestly impressive to watch, especially pinch hitting so late in the season

I love Mahomes and I know I have fallen prisoner to his greatness at times. But THIS super bowl run was predicated on the DEFENSE. We have not only absolute DAWGS on defense, but some of the highest football IQ players on defense. What a journey boys

A NG is one of those position you have to love football and get football to appreciate. It’s a defensive black hole you look at it and sometimes doing nothing is a win. When a team devotes two people to move you. Then they run a play behind it and you are a black hole that allows others to make a play OR even better two people don’t contain you and you still end the play.

Second of all I love a guy who played in the trenches highlight the lost under appreciated positions in the game. Also I love the breakdown of the old school Mike Shanahan offense. Also 6:07 certain places call it a soft 6.

How does the practice team get moved to the main team, I will be honest I don’t understand the position but I will go read up, but he is good, will he get a main team spot? Sorry I should have listened to my brothers and now I am too proud to ask.
@byashaluff4107
@byashaluff4107 4 ай бұрын
practice squad players can get elevated to play on games a set number of times before having to be signed to the official 53 man roster he might return next year since kc is pretty shallow on interior defenders rn but with how well he played on this playoff run maybe some other team might offer more money than we can afford to spend on a role player but hey never be too proud to ask, ppl have the right to not know stuff, we're all learning new things every day :)

@@byashaluff4107 oh okay, so if the are moved to the playing team for more than say 5 games the team has to sign them to the main squad? That is actually really smart, now I also understand why the IR list is always talked about. I would prefer they make a plan to keep him, but what I have been reading about the cap means they don’t have that much available? I like the defense, they are such unsung heroes. Does it happen regularly that the practice guys get a spot permanently? Thank you for the help, my brothers would rub it in my face so I will be taking my shame to the internet.

@@Jaimeheartbeat i believe the actual number is 3 times, but not sure on that and yeah kc doesn't have a lot of cap space considering how much the guys we have to re-sign are gonna (rightfully) ask for as for how frequently PS guys become starters, i dont have the actual data on that but i believe its not a lot there's some notable cases of guys here and there but i think most of time that's not how it goes

Very strange how he kind of bounces around the league, ends up back in KC, probably just long enough to play Hero Ball in the playoffs, and then get a nice pay day somewhere else, where he'll probably disappear again. Hardman's kind of like that, too. He has unique gifts and can make a big impact on a game, but he's not a true #1 or #2 WR, who's going to be your bread and butter. KC's kind of the perfect fit for him, where he has a relatively limited role, but he can make big plays and always presents a threat. Maybe he's only a 50-50 shot, but if he gets open, Mahomes isn't afraid to take the shot. Not many teams can carry a guy like that, or reap great rewards like KC did, when they picked him up off waivers at midseason. As with Pennel, his performance in the SB will get him a lot of attention, they'll give him a Desmond Howard* contract, and then be disappointed at the drops, and demote him to 2nd- or 3rd-string, and before you know it, he's on the market for KC to add a cheap speed threat. I can almost guarantee that Pennel and Hardman will get some really good offers. They'll probably be more than KC can afford, and they'll be gone, again. *SB MVP. One-hit wonder. Landed a fat contract off his SB performance, and promptly disappeared, because he was never a true #1 WR.

There're plenty of commentators on the networks who could break things down like this, but the networks care more about drama, politics, and personal-interest stories. Everything they do has to fit neatly in the time allotted. It's basically an outmoded delivery system for what you and I enjoy the most. And maybe that's OK. I feel like I'm like a lot of other guys, but I bet the lot of us wouldn't keep the lights on at the networks. They're always trying to bring in casuals to the sport and appeal to casuals.
