My son took HVAC at the local community college. Started working for small commercial company. Fast forward…… He is a facilities director at a large hospital complex. Hard work got him there. Great money and diverse interesting work. He has moved forward over those with degrees due to his hard work.

The Trades are difficult because your work is immediately visible. This puts you under scrutiny that some people cannot handle.

Too many colleges are getting workforce grants to do this, yet here it seems like a great waste of money due to the small response of students attending. Seems there are more instructors than students.

My husband learned a Postrio class in high school, and we made a wonderful living for 55 years and now we’re retired. I wish those college people could look back at that.

I graduated from a trade school in 1983. Cost my 1500 bucks . I started out at 15 bucks a hour in 1983 . When min wage was 3.35 an hour . At 30 years in to my vocational training my pay is almost 200k a year ! I’ve got friends that are plumbers carpenters car mechanics that’s making over 6 figures a year …. Mike is so right!!

Education should be free in America. It’s ridiculous at some point we have to go free on the education you can’t have free libraries in America and charge people for information that’s free at a public library. It’s ridiculous.

Who’s gonna pay the teachers of the students? You are being ignorant. There is such thing as free education which is what I’ve chosen to do as a 20 year old, it’s called Autodidacticism. start with fictional stories/ arts, then non fiction then science/ math and practical skills/ people skills. Learning is a life long trade. It’s easy when you’re young, there are no excuses if you’re aware of the game. It’s the education that can be better. Look up any book and then put “pdf” after and 85% of the time you can read the book for free. A free education if either a shitty one or the best kind of education. Education is cheap but it takes work.

Because higher public education hasn't helped this country AT ALL. Look, College is NOT for everyone. That's fine. But tell kids they don't NEED college is something else entirely. That's like saying you don't need to improve yourself ever. Or MAYBE be exposed to ideas that you wouldn't otherwise. Rowe is giving permission to be willfully ignorant. NOT OK.

Will these students also have to pay taxes on the value of their payoff? We heard this last year. If so. These moocher kids will be in shock. Hell, we all had to pay off our student loans. WTH! this pisses off every American who has worked and paid off their debt. Heck next ... they will want us to buy their homes. Oh wait, we are already paying rent for many with grant funding.

They need to get rid of testing altogether on kids considering that we have kids that are autistic. They need to do away with all the ACT and all the testing and get rid of it not only does it put kids in a classification but it also put stigma on children that have disability learning disabilities.
