Mike Tyson story is became a lesson not only for all boxers, but for all athletes superstar, that keep and care your money, because not all the time is you're lucky. I remember my Father watched Mike Tyson vs Douglas, there's no Boxing Fans in the world believed that Douglas defeated Mike Tyson, but Douglas did, Douglas broke Mike Tyson undefeated record, it is happened because of Mike Tyson himself, because he's team saiding that Mike Tyson drinking with girls and having a sex that night before the fight, Mike Tyson Underestimating Douglas for him it's very easy fight, so in the day of fight Mike Tyson is not in condition he was still drunk and having a hangover so he lose against Douglas. When Mike Tyson is getting a lose against Douglas he became depressed because he lose he's undefeated record and promoter started not trusting him because of what happened before the fight, so Mike Tyson started using a Drugs and Smoking while he continued to drink with the girls this bad habits became worst to Mike Tyson from rise to fall life style. 500M US Dollars gone in only a years 😂 the debt will increase until he became bankrupt and became poor.

A bird was flying until it hit a snowstorm. Its wings froze and it fell to the ground. The bird thought it would die until a cow came along and pooped on it. It was so warm and happy that it wouldn't freeze that it started to sing. A nearby cat heard the birdsong. It came to the bird, scooped it out of the cowpie and ate it. Moral of the story? Plan ahead. Not everyone that sh*ts on you is an enemy and not everyone that gets you out of sh*t is a friend. And if you're warm & happy then just keep your mouth shut.

So boxing community now is not like in their time because boxers during their era is not like scared undefeated, but look at the boxing community now bro it's 30% undefeated boxers and 50% had 1 or 3 loses, so it means boxer intentionally wants to retired undefeated like their idol Floyd Mayweather Jr. Even 0 is nothing if you don't having a good boxers in your resume 😂 just like Stevenson, Haney 😂 they didn't want to fight each other because they want to be still undefeated 😂😂

Mike's downfall proves what Cus said about boxing being 75 percent mental. A motivated and well trained Tyson without any distractions from the original Catskill team showed us for a short period of time what the perfect fighter looked like. He may not have had a decade long reign but for a glimpse in time he was the pinnacle of greatness in the ring thanks to Cus D'Amato. I don't think there was a more dedicated boxer from the ages of 13-22 than Mike. At 20 you're still agile like a kid but you have peak testosterone, endurance for days and you're as strong as a bull. He had more experience at that age than a lot of guys 5-10 years older. I would take a determined Mike Tyson in 86' on his way to the title against anyone. Phenomenal video.

@perpetualmotion357
@perpetualmotion357 Жыл бұрын
@@larrylewis1661 I get what you are saying. I think it comes down to what people are considering "best" to be. If we're going strictly by numbers then there is only one best and it would be Joe Louis. If there is other criteria involved then it becomes completely subjective. Mike is viewed in this weird light where his expectations are of a guy that should've went 60-0 and smashed every record. His record of Youngest HW champion is pushing 40 years, and aside from Louis's defense record it's one of the longest records of all time that I'm not sure will ever be broken(not in my lifetime along with Louis's) What made him special accomplishing all that at 20, then capturing all the titles and unifying them is also what ended up costing him in the end. He just wasn't emotionally capable of smashing those records at such an age with the vultures circling in on a mentally vulnerable exceptionally young man. His best interests were intentionally derailed with short term thinking. While I believe we did get to see Mike at his absolute peak, I don't believe he ever reached his absolute potential. I'm not sure how much better he would have gotten, the issue was more to do with maintaining that skill level which is where he fell short and by what Cus meant by boxing being 75 percent mental. That's actually true that he ended up proving Cus right twice.

I was always a big fan of his, because he was such an absolute maniac, and a great fighter, too. He doesn’t fight anymore, now, of course, and he seems to have calmed down, quite a bit, from the way he used to be, obviously. He hasn’t threatened to eat anyone’s children in a while, as far as I know, so he definitely isn’t as much of a nut as he once was, but calling him one of the wisest men on the planet seems kinda disrespectful, to me, to all the people of the world who really are wise, or, at least aren’t insane, but that’s just me, I guess. I mean, don’t get me wrong. I like the guy, and I find him to be very entertaining, but he clearly isn’t the sharpest tool in the shed, still, by any means. Compared to his younger self, I’d agree that he’s much wiser now, but that doesn’t mean he’s a genius, just because he no longer rapes people, to try to make them love him. Let’s face it, the guy couldn’t spell cat if you gave him the first 2 letters. I can guarantee you that. If Mike and I were to take the same multiple choice test, and he actually took his time on his, and tried to do as well as he could, but I just randomly marked answers, without even reading any of the questions, then he would have a 50/50 chance, exactly, of getting a better grade than I did. It wouldn’t even matter what the subject was, either, and I’m not just saying that, because I’m a really good guesser. That’s also assuming that he would answer each question, only once, though, and that he wouldn’t just suddenly wad his test up and eat it, without thinking, and it’s assuming that he wouldn’t sexually assault the teacher, or anything like that, either. Those are all very real possibilities, of course. I actually believe that he’d be able to resist those urges, honestly, but I wouldn’t say that that necessarily makes him wise, though. I know I definitely wouldn’t cheat off of his test, even if he had the questions, and I didn’t. He’s not a very intelligent human being, obviously, but that’s ok, though. There’s no point in pretending he’s wise, when we all know that that couldn’t be any further from the truth. He’s a lunatic, clearly, but that’s why we love him 🤷🏿‍♂️

This is the greatest doc I've ever seen on Tyson. I must have watched it a dozen or more times already. Considering there is thousands of videos on Tyson and it feels like I've watched about every one of them, it's quite the feat. I love the slowing down and repeating some of those blistering punches and the dodging. I sometimes think people put on those rose colored glasses when thinking about the old fighters and ranking everyone. I believe if the only thing we had on Mike was black and white footage from 70 years ago and just the stories from old timers, he would have been perceived as this mythical figure. He basically is already. Thank God he was documented to the extent that he was.

In 10 to 20 years and beyond, Mike Tyson will be hailed as the greatest boxer of all time, surpassing even Muhammad Ali. While Ali was once considered the greatest in history, his legacy may not shine as brightly in the future. Ultimately, it will be up to our children to determine the true boxing legend of all time.

Awesome comment bro.....I always thought I was crazy bcuz I used mike and his life as like a self help/therapy kinda thing lol I come from a similar background, did the petty crime bs when i was a youth and got locked up more than a few times...struggled with addiction and was pretty violent all thru my teens and 20s and now at 35 I'm clean and doing the family thing an trying to make up for all the bad things I did in the past....mike truly is a philosopher tho....I used sports and working out to get thru and once I started selling and doin drugs i studied that part of Mike's life and how he eventually got clean....its crazy how a guy from Brownsville BK that I've never met has impacted my life that much...its hard 2 explain, it's like I used his life story as a way 2 guide me thru my life?? Ppl def need 2 "give him his flowers" now while hes alive bcuz mike is something special he could help so many inner city kids and others that are struggling just by telling his life story .. didn't mean 2 write you a book brotha your comment made me sit back n think bout all that.. peace!

I’m only 22 rn and even though I don’t have that same background I relate to mike because I’ve done sports all my life including box so ik what it’s like to have that fire and learning how to use it from past experiences and I love learning about fighters not only their boxing skills but things like how they deal with defeat. Thanks to joe Vincent I get to learn about fighters I didn’t grow up with like Ali, and sugar ray Leonard, Big George Forman etc.

Once again, Joe, you outdid yourself. This is the most complete documentary I've seen. Especially his pre-pro days. Every loss Tyson took was due to his lack of training and support by a bunch of greedy money-hungry assholes. He would have never lost a fight if not for those people he let into his life.
@tonyb9735
@tonyb9735 3 жыл бұрын
True but in the end there is only one person to blame for letting them into his life. Could the like of Cus and Rooney saved Tyson from himself? I think it's doubtful. The unfortunate truth is that letting the "assholes" into his life didn't cause the problems, letting them in was a symptom of problems he already had. Tyson might have been one of the best boxers that ever lived but he was also a damaged individual. You have to accept him for who he was, warts and all.
@DWish808
@DWish808 3 жыл бұрын
@@tonyb9735 Totally agree, but he lost his grounding after Cus was gone and just let everyone else get into his head because he didn't have a "Cus" in his life to keep him grounded like he was. "Mike made the wrong choices..." Yep, absolutely, but he wasn't savvy or knowledgeable enough to handle the fame and fortune that hit him so hard and fast and the swarm of maggots that came after his money knowing his mental state. I still stand by what I originally said. Cheers, mate!

@@tonyb9735 If you place yourself in his shoes at the age of 21 with 400 million it’s difficult to not lose track. At that age he was not wise enough to surround himself with good company. Like stated in the documentary he was a child in a mans body. When you go from nothing to being the wealthiest athlete at the time, it’s impossible to keep focus. When blinded by money it’s difficult to choose right from wrong. If you put any man at that age in Tyson’s shoes it would be the same story.
