You think Joe isn't aware? Honestly, how stupid do you have to be to think that? Do you think you're the clever one that knew Tyson and Cus had a relationships? Think about it. The craziest thing is Cus saw the potential in Mike long before we even saw him in his best condition. For that man to tell that young boy "you have the chance to be the greatest boxer". Mike is actually a boxing scholar on the level of Cus. The student is at least equal in knowledge to the old master and may have surpassed him in many regards. Being the equal of Cus and being able to teach and communicate it like Joe was saying is two different things and Cus still stands supreme but it's often overlooked how intelligent Mike Tyson is and the depth and breadth of his knowledge on pretty much all aspects of boxing and has the actual career experience, which was one of a kind, to put with it. He was watching film from the D'amato library when he was 14 and had Cus giving him personal instruction and commentary on all the greats and some fighters people never even heard of but were no less great. Like an old samurai master with his greatest pupil just unloading the distilled wisdom of 80 years in and out of the ring.

Mike lost his edge the further he fought after his death. I have never seen someone so tactically sound and intimidating as Tyson while in his short prime. Cus put Mike in a focused mental state that he could not find with other mentors and trainers.

Without Cus Mike wouldn't b the same fighter that he was.

Planet Ian just imagine if Cus hadn’t have died, and maybe lived 10 more years. Tyson could have been the GOAT

Had Cus been alive Mike Tyson would’ve stayed on top both in boxing and structured a lot better as far as decision making.

For one reason or another Mike Tyson should never be interrupted especially if you have invited him into your space.

Cus D'Amato and Kevin Rooney were best for Mike Tyson. With out them, you watched Mike regress. Really liked him when he was young.

Tyson had been through a lot. He was able to channel the 'raw' feeling into something great. Cus saw that potential IMHO. No doubt they both were lucky to meet each other.

If only Tyson stuck with Cus’ people after he died. When Tyson changed the people around him and the people in his corner, things got worse for him.

Sometimes, there are things that happen that you can’t explain, but we should be gracious for each gift given to us, otherwise you will end up forsaken.

Mike Tyson is the real man. He talked about a featherweight Japanese fighter with so much passion. Mr. Tyson doesn’t undermine the killer mentality of a the fighter simply because he is in a lighter weight

I laughed when Tyson said "poor Justin" but honestly that is pretty terrifying if people were constantly breaking into his house to try to fuck him. Especially if it was happening while he was a teenager.
