@@cfoust100 no. you can't depend on consistent grit size in the desert. That's why the airbox is a box. you remove the filter and pour in your choice of blasting media. That way you have total control of how much grit you want to polish your combustion chambers with.

Maybe rotarys are not for you this is olesckool hotrodding doin it yorself and having bragging rights of chopping cars with less than 1.3 ltrs o no replacement fo displacement under your hood and running some twosmoke oil n your streetcar yeah it smokes and sounds like its missing but it'll teach u a lesson cant hold no merican mtr on the limiter half as long as you can run a rotary with no limiter to the wood and just use the clutch without liftin the gas and not do major unrepairable damage

people into rotaries have always been a fuckin cool bunch. you can just internet up a porting template and bam, go to town on your setup. its litterally the polar oposite of the secret sauce bigblock guys. youll never get a peep out of them about cam specs or any of the shit they do, because they want you to buy their "race" motors and shit . so shoutout to rotary guys fot bein dope.

If you make a hole, you ice the part, get it out, let it get slightly warm (it's a touch thing) and then tack it and let it rest. You can then go on with your business. Personally, i just use a transfer caliper (the ones that have a scale are the best for this) to measure the thickness of the wall. Starrett makes ones that are curved and long, they fit like glove inside the coolant passage and give an accurate thickness. Alternatively, you can use welding wire, bent to look like a transfer caliper that will fit the passage, then you mark two spots on the arms of the caliper you've just made and using a ruler, you measure the distance when you've closed it, take it out, and check it using the ruler to close at the marked spots, what you saw when it was inside. If you really have the time to do it, then you just spot weld a perpendicular piece of wire as you'd have it on a real caliper and then just mark it so you know where you are.

Just a tip i learned from my dad, if you want to polish your port. Wrap a sandpaper sponge around your grinding tool, stick it in there and polish it

Have you ever tried dimpling the runners before? Wonder if it would pick up any more power. Because I've seen some guys pick up a few HP from dimpling the intake runners on pistons engines.

Rotaries are much simpler than piston engines. It's not necessarily very easy to do, but it's very easy to understand.

Easy once you understand them. A few little hidden secrets to learn. Porting has been a industry secret/ builders technique, so you don't see many of these videos of people showing you the real way to do it. Really just learn how to clearance side seals and port, the rest is assembly & measuring tolerances.
