I think Erwin and Levi came to terms and accepted the fact that Mike was killed. When Erwin and Levi have their last conversation together in Shiganshina, they imagine a bunch of deceased veteran scouts surrounding them, and Mike was among them; with the way Erwin described them, they're indirectly referred to as fallen comrades.

If he's not killed by Zeke, Mike might be killed at Shiganshina. He might be either caught off guard by the boulders thrown by the Beast Titan at supersonic speed just like the 3 squads sent by Erwin or be killed by the Colossal Titan just like Hange's squad when Bertoto nuked Shiganshina. He might still survive just like Levi and Mike can kill the Titans at the opposite side of Levi cornering Zeke and maybe cutting the Cart Titan's escape route.

I'm pretty sure if any of the ackermans, maybe except Levi, would've had a similar fate or hurt real bad. especially not knowing anything about the beast titan. Levi was able to beat him because he was informed. Miche wasn't.

Hange explains that he sniffs everyone, then mysteriously smiles. I relate because I too, have a great sense of smell. Mike smells the Titans before he sees them
