Classic Sonic trilogy speed run (NMG) -

4 жыл бұрынThis run was part of a larger compilation of Sonic runs, but since I always do these three first it lets me set a Trilogy time at the same time! I think I only had one death here and it was a very short one in Flying Battery 2. -- Watch live at / segajunkie

Enjoyed watching this - it's great to see you back playing Sonic platformers again! In S3&K, why don't you reset the game after the score countdown to skip the cutscenes in things like LB2 and SS? (I know you created a file a few slots to the right on the file select screen, but presumably that must still be quicker than watching the full Launch Base 2 end sequence!) Do you avoid that because it counts as a major glitch (so it's disqualified from this category), or is there something about the Steam version that prevents it from working like it does on other formats? (I own the 16-bit Sonic games on Steam, but when I last tried them I encountered graphical issues: vsync off led to screen tearing; vsync on gave me to input lag. So I tend to stick to Kega Fusion.)

It does work, but the way I have it set up makes it kind of annoying to save and reload, plus Genesis Classics has a habit of crashing on me after a couple of game loads (which you hear me muttering about after Sonic 2). Launch Base is probably still faster but it's just something I can't be bothered risking given it's not at all a serious escapade for me right now.
