Just got back from seeing Clapton in Newcastle tonight… it’s hard to believe the guy is 79… still a class act!! But no Layla!! 🤯 If we’re looking at iconic performances for EC, then I don’t think there’s any better example than the performance of Don’t Think Twice (it’s alright) from the Bob Dylan Anniversay concert at Madison Square Gardens from 1992 ( i think). From memory, Booker T & the MG’s were the house band.. Clapton blew the roof off! Incredible vocals Gutiar playing.. the “outro tag” at the end would have been worth the entrance fee alone I’m sure. Keep it Burning… 👌🏻

ngl I always preferred dominos version of this tune. Great playing also maybe you could try the version of steve winwood, that has an even better solo imo

Indeed a killer

There’s a John Mayer / dead and company song / grateful dead song where he does a jaw dropping solo, into little wing and back to the song. Might be one of the tasties solos ever. I think it’s friend of the devil, and he’s playing a Garcia style wolf guitar I think! Let me know what you think.
