This short with James Damore and Helen Pluckrose at Portland State University uses offcuts from a feature-length documentary I'm currently working on. My plan is to play with footage that's unlikely to make the final cut and build a KZfaq support base while I figure out the complicated subject matter.
My usual sources of film funding are blocked off to me because of the sensitive subject matter and slow approach I'm taking. If you think what I'm doing here is valuable and you're in a position to help, you can support the project here - / mikenayna
I ask that you please respect everyone that features in my videos and keep your thoughts and feelings in the comment thread.

The smug responses speak volumes. I’ve talked to people from cults who’ve been more intellectually engaged than these poor souls. If they weren’t so dangerous I would feel sorry for them.
@TheAstrojoe62
@TheAstrojoe62 4 жыл бұрын
Bill olu Compton actually you took way to much from what I said. I called them poor souls because they are deceived. Even though I feel pity for those who are deceived no matter the ideology doesn’t mean I don’t think they should get a big dose of reality. Nor do I think they aren’t intelligent enough. Deception isn’t always a measure of intelligence but a larger issue of the mind and the heart. They need to be engaged vigorously on all levels but not with kid gloves. So don’t be like them and accuse me of something without even trying to understand why I said what I said.

@Bill olu Compton Have you even watched the video? Cause what you say is exactly the opposite of what H. Pluckrose said, so you either disagree and I'd be curious to know why or you didn't understand.
@tdb517
@tdb517 4 жыл бұрын
@Bill olu Compton I got the answer to my question: you haven't understood. What they say is you should be able to quote scientific data even if that data goes against the belief system of a company. That's what Heather Heying is saying (and caused these young people to leave in a noisy manner), men are on average taller than women, and women have different kind of interests than men, hence why there are more men in the STEM fields than in the education or healthcare fields. This isn't discrimination, however trying to censor people for discussing this kind of ideas is indeed discrimination.

The same with feminism. They all just want high payed, powerful jobs in air-conditioned offices in big cities. Everyone sees this. But even in my country in scandinavia, women take sick leaves and part time jobs DOUBLE as much as men, and still they shout about the wage gap and patriarchy or blames the men for not doing as much work at home as them. We have been pandering with women for too long. Fathers need to stop raising girls different than boys. The White Nighting fathers do to their daughters creates conflicts in any modern society as when they realize daddy is no longer protecting them, they get a dose of the real life and gets over sensitive, taking sick leaves and part time jobs. We have a HUGE problem in the western world with feminism and young people believing they are oppressed. Wake up to the real life people. It`s not that pleasant!!

You want all these institutions to wake up? You're naively crazy to think this is only a problem in which people need to "wake up". This crap has been peddled into academia for decades with many generations now infested with post modernist ideology that has corrupted itself into said institutions. This is literally a generational issue and you think people are just going to "wake up"? Maybe they might but of course only after we have passed the zenith of the suffering caused by these ideologues.

Yes, seems like we are all arguing over shifting the deckchairs on the Titanic while fast approaching the ice berg of climate change. We are going to have to rely on scientific facts and methods not abstract power theories to help us deal with what is coming our way. Humanity needs to unite and use our best brain power to try to alleviate the coming environmental crisis. But on the evidence of this video I despair at the arrogance of the SJWs that left the meeting because they were offended by facts. Only by understanding facts and analysis are we going to be able to do anything positive and constructive to save the human race from catastrophe.

Knowing now she was one of the protesters, it is now obviously inevitable that she put on her earphones, before James even spoke a single word ... but equally obviously, she wasn't there to listen, just to disrupt, thereby taking up a seat, that could have been used by someone else, who would have wanted to listen to him, and the panel as a whole, but couldn't, since the venue was near, or at, capacity ...

UGH I left academe in the 1990s when Identity Politics was just taking hold in the social sciences and humanities. So glad I escaped its vortex. As with everything, there is a kernel of truth but it's so poorly presented or analyzed and then misrepresented that the truth is lost amidst all the BS. I'm so glad that there's an opportunity to have longer more meaningful discussions like this are taking place more recently. The people who disrupt these events are clearly disturbed.

That's the funny thing. The Conservatives were fighting against free speech in the 1980's, and now it's the Left. It's all by design though. The two major political parties are nothing more than sheep herders. The 99 percent and the Tea Party agreed on the majority of important issues. Those in control of this country could not allow them to come together, so they they forced them back into their corners fighting over meaningless social issues. Divide and Conquer works. They can't fight the Elite if they are fighting against each other.

The victim narrative is present here plainly too. "I'm oppressed, he's oppressed... sexism... racism" It almost seems surreal. That is just rudimentary regurgitation of a collective discourse that has been brewing for decades. Unitary, totalizing ideology curated by a collectivist doctrine that seeks an organic reorganization of society and culture by espousing an absolutist platform. It's tantamount to brainwashing. It honestly shows an alarming lack of reasoning skills and preys upon untrained minds. It's almost like when you hear that terrible song on the radio, but can't help but sing it out as it is stuck in your head from conditioning. "If we can reprogram the language, we can reprogram the world." Redefining logic and language. This is the radical left's greatest weapon and it's scary to see any fellow citizen subscribe to such a basic narrative, without question or qualification and when challenged, revert to amorphous arguments and buzzwords. Heying describes sexual dimorphism, present in our lineage for untold millions of years, woman walks out, taking offence, then proceeds to equate the logical consistency aforementioned with the logical fallacy that triangles are circles. It's circular logic no different from the radical rightists these radical leftists oppose. Dialogue. Freedom of speech. Scientific method. Proprietary rights. Human rights. Radical leftists need to get a grip on reality if they want to be taken seriously.

Precisely what they want, so that they can say one thing and have it mean anything they want - and the same applies to you. Alarmism, alarmism, everywhere I look. I'm going to go with the venal, corrupt, self-serving President of the USA, with the IQ of a particularly smart shrew, a shit-ton of nuclear weapons at his behest and a complete disregard for anyone who isn't white and/or rich over a few slightly confused university students vis the most likely cause of our extinction tbh

I really worry about what these "SJW"s will be like when the slap of the real world causes disillusion I have the feeling that a lot of them are going to go into extreme conservatism into extreme right-wing values I think that their foolishness compounded with their college debt is going to cause a bitterness that might just spring them into true fascism I mean obviously they're already toying with fascism and a swift kick in the ass by the world might make their 180 an extremely sharp turn

Can't wait for what's probably the most important documentary of recent times. I'm actually really pessimistic about the whole situation. There is evil genius behind creating an ideology that simply refuses to believe in reason. It puts the ideology outside the battleground for ideas. It's an indestructible monster.

I find it’s the same time and time again that these people who are protesting don’t want their ideas challenged. If you challenge them they dismiss you and at times use name calling to divert the conversation. Classic example of walking away instead of engaging. I don’t know how you reach these people to change their minds.

@@interfilamentar413 It was true like a year ago..... I too saw videos of them and had a laugh and scoff. But now they are teaching children, even little ones, these NPCs are becoming responsible for growing children and growing minds of young adults. All the chaos which you see on the streets is because we just laughed and scoffed at them a year ago and thought them just tiny minority like neo - Nazis. Not anymore , please consider this carefully. I am an Indian, I have no vested interest in the situation in USA , except that it will spread to young minds overseas. Please consider thoughtfully. @jackdeath

+@Kenny Palurintano That's a terrible analogy, as NPCs are controller by dungeon masters or referees for the benefit of player characters, and not all NPC are adversaries. The term generally use for what your describing is _robots._

"Bring your whole self to work." Yeah, I hear that bullshit at my own workplace too - they're all pushing this line these days. Who decided this was even necessary? There are parts of my life and personality that have zero bearing on my workday, and I keep them PRIVATE, rather than inflict irrelevant life-matters on my employer and colleagues. Bringing one's "whole self" to work is narcissistic in the extreme. Talk about entitled!
