Good to see someone comparing the Pixel 6 pro with a phone in the same price class. Most youtubers keep comparing the Pixel with the most expensive phones from Apple and Samsung. You really brushed right over the speech recognition piece of the pixel. To me that's a game changer for how I use the device. I use voice typing quite a bit now on my pixel 4 and the enhanced voice typing is one of the things I'm looking forward to the most on the 6. That hands-free life, I'm all about it.

I love photography and buy my phones based on the camera. I have had a note 20 ultra for over a year and was one of the first to receive a Pixel in late 2021. Although I appreciated the Note, the camera lacked in ways that made me use it less. First, the 5x zoom. It does not work without good light. Nothing on the camera made clear whether there was enough light or not so I had to put my finger over the 5x optical camera to see if it was functioning which was more than frustrating. This is a deal breaker for me because i shoot a lot of shots in not ideal lighting situations. Second, I like to shoot closeup shots of things like flowers. The sensor on the Note is big enough so that I could rarely get a flower, front to back in focus (1x). The 5x in good light is awesome so l tried the trick of using 5x, but backing up the camera. I was able to do this in some situations and get a decent shot, but 5x was just too much for me to have room, or the arm length, to back up far enough to get the flower framed how I wanted. And besides, in most of these situations, there was not enough light and the Note would revert to digital. Finally, 5x and the hybrid 10x both worked well outside, but there are too many situations where I want to use zoom indoors. Two issues. First, 5x was too much to get those I was shooting in the frame in my smallish house. Second, there was never enough light and optical always turned itself off which led to a blurry picture. I know the 20 ultra is over a year old so maybe Samsung has fixed the zoom Auto-resetting to digital in low light issue and that s 21+ is 3x, maybe it would work for my indoor shots. The Pixel 6 Pro is my go to for many reasons. 1). The optical zoom stays on no matter how dark. 2) 4x is very optimal for my indoor shots, I can get the picture I want framed. 3) In almost every shot, cropping the 4x shot to be the same as the Note 5x results in no quality list loss. 4). The sensor is large in the Pixel also causing similar problems as I described with the Note for flower closeups. However, with 4x there are very few times I can't use 4x and back the camera up to get crystal clear flower close ups. 5) 2x on the Pixel is a crop of the optical 1x, and it always looks crystal clear, thus giving me 1, 2, and 4x optical choices which makes it function more like a DSLR with a 40-120 zoom. (Yes I could take a 1x and crop myself, but why when I can have the ability to frame in real time?). If camera is important to you, I hope these real world examples help.

Just received the pixel 6... Works better than imagined!

Just so you know, the s21 series has had face unblur for months in the Remaster Picture function. It needs to recognize that it's blurry and it's harder to find, but it works well

I have both and prefer the pixel only for a couple reasons. The software is so much smoother on the 6 pro. The portrait is unreal, and the translation and dictation is the best the world has ever seen. To be able to talk in real time in any language turns out to be a joy anytime you get the opportunity

Good review with small highlight though, that seems to me like no nigh mode on Galaxy was used in samples.

They do have a vivid mode in the camera though so if you want more color you can get it also we just had a huge update and it includes camera lol

dual bluetooth audio is a feature that i use quite a lot and I can't now switch to any other phone without this feature.

if anyone has a pixel 6/6 pro I highly recommend flashing a custom ROM. Face unlock is so nice and you can have both so as you hit your fingerprint, if it misses (and it often does) it quickly scans your face and unlocks that way. I don't think stock 12.1 is even usable on the 6 for my usage wheras sparkos or something similar is quite nice actually, got rid of a ton of micro stutter on scrolling as well.

Were the photos on S21+ taken witn Scene Optimiser on? I don't like the artfficial oversaturated colours. Is it possibile to decrease the saturation only in pro mode?

Samsung actually has the magic eraser feature, they call it Object eraser. They didn't make a fuzz about it but it works great.

pixel 6 pro will get a lot better after 2-3 updates. Even so, I like how my s21+ looks n feel in the hand. Samsung gets the argonomics and weight balance right.

team pixel for now, for me the bottom line is the price. I think that yes the Samsung is more full of features(including some of the key features that google is pushing) but that lack of support for updates down the line is the kicker for me. I've been using Samsung phones for the last 6 years or so but my 3 year old phone right now can't get a recent enough update to download the frikin fitbit app for example. I like the pixel's design a little better too

pixel 6 video footage seems really inconsistent in different reviews, it's hard to judge it. here it looks very good, in others it can look really average. 🤷‍♂️

Great comparison of the two. Thank you. But after 4 months of living with the Pixel 6 pro - I just can't do it anymore. Even with the latest system updates etc - there are so many bugs with the bluetooth, android auto, and applications that I feel like a beta tester. I'm switching to the S21U 256GB 5G. I'll put this P6Pro in the closet and hope they get it right in the future. Too many bugs for me.

I'm using the pixel 6 right now and getting the Samsung s21 plus this week. Will be reviewing both. So far the Pixel is great but I'm not blown away in all honesty. I got the Samsung s21 plus for myself because I believe video wise it's much more capable and versatile

Iove my s21 ultra! But the gboard voice typing with tensor 6 chip is unbeatable in my opinion. The words and punctuation are 100% and ever improving! The closest thing I get to that is Word on Office 365. But again nothing compares to Google. I hope to see this on Samsung phones in the near future.. If not... I will be very tempted to crossover...

To me, the clear winner was to save the $300 to $400 off of these two reasonable choices, let alone saving $800 0ff of the $1400 top Samsung, and ordering the Pixel 6 (non-pro) at $599 was crazy impressive and a complete no-brainer. I'll spend all that extra $$$ on something else I will enjoy greatly over the next few years, thank you very much. 6.4 vs. 6.7 screen and giving up the couple of (Pixel 6 pro) camera advances I'd probably never use made this pretty easy. Go Google/Pixel, your values are winning big-time in 2021; so please keep it up. I'm hereby switching from Samsung, whom I've long-enjoyed. As for Apple phones, the price vs features/quality isn't remotely near any consideration for years now on any level.

After watching a lot of comparisons between these two, seems like one UI is better than stock android. I actually thought it was the opposite, only because I've never used stock android. The s21 also has an ultra sonic fp and the pixel has an optical. The flat display also just beats the curve on the pixel. Also no dual Bluetooth? That means I can't have my smart watch and car Bluetooth at the same time. Actually glad I stayed away from the pixel.

The S21+ should have kept the 1440 Resultion.

Bought the Pixel 6 Pro this week. Exceeds my expectations. Finger sensor is prompt, camera is amazing, magic erase very useful. Lock of bloatware on the phone also appeals... Price is good value... Very pleased.

I can say one thing, the Galaxy night mode was not on, so the scene optimizer is not off. And seriously talking about the software advantages of the Pixel hovering over those of the Galaxy, it's not fair and it's not the Mike I know.

I'm already ass deep in the Samsung ecosystem with the buds and the watch. Got no choice.

I have the Pro 6 and I like it but tbh it reminds me of my Galaxy S8. Mostly cause of the screen but great phone.

I notice the pixel doesn't mirror the image in front camera for selfies, as most do - is there a way to change this in settings? It's something that put me off a goggle pixel before and will remain a deal breaker if this can't be changed, but having just purchased the s21+, I'm so unimpressed with the front camera (colour is really not true to life at all and I have to adjust saturation with every photo to bring back any natural warmth) I'm thinking of returning it to purchase the pixel.

Based on watching other phone reviewers like phone arena I think the pixel 6 has better battery than the pixel 6 bro., but do you really think the 6 pro and s21 plus gives you the same battery experience?

The Pixel seemed to pick up a lot more ambient noise than the Galaxy.

I got the G 22 and a pixel 6. Pictures in G22 are much better!

The camera is good but my phone has auto-rotate issues that should be fixed with an update but this problem is being ignored. I am not the only one who has this problem. Unfotunately none of the influencers talk about this. I take hundreds of photos of objects for my online shop and having to rotate the photo back to what it should be is time cnsuming and annoying. Tapping the camera along the non-button side to the edge of a wooden table lightly several times can brings the gyroscope back to where it should be, but I expect it to go off again. I am returning the phone with a heavy heart since I love the camera.

Thanks for the video. Your recommendation at the end was mostly based on software launcher differences. Launchers are easily swapped and installed, just like assistants, keyboards, camera apps, etc. There is no need to use apps the OEM installed by default. It is like recmmending a laptop because it has Chrome vs Edge as the default browser.

Finally sensible review with 21+. Thanks! Too much S21ultra everywhere - top heavy phone is not good as everyday driver. For me 21+ actually wins with flat display. I had curved edges phone in the past and reflections and accidental touches are big disadvantage. So, for me 21+.

I prefer the s21 plus.I got the s21 plus first and o wanted to try out the pixel 6 pro so I also bought it.The pixel 6 pro has better specs on paper but the camera for me wasn't that great.The photos look way too overprocesses.Especially the selfies.Maybe it's just the gcam app.I prefer the s21 plus because it has way more features

The galaxy is more saturated which many people prefer. But in the window shots, you didn't mention it, the pixel destroys the galaxy in that photo. And you can tell because the clouds are super detailed. The brights wash out in the galaxy
