lol, so turn the pitch up? That's the obvious method that everyone has tried, failed, and searched for a proper technique. That clearly doesn't work. Definitely sounds 100% male. If you pitch up too high you lose tonal quality and sound inhuman.

i used to have some program that had voice filters with one that made you sound like a woman. i was amazed at how well it worked, but now i realize that it probably worked really well because i was 13 at the time and already sounded like a girl

No, there are awesome programs that REALLY work automatically. Very easy to use. I used to have one long time ago. And I didn't even have to change the ton of my voice for it to work very well. It would just instantly change my voice to a female one. I'm trying to remember the name of it because I need it now!

@@kiyoponnn Definitely!! The thing is, I had that program more than 10 years ago! So I doubt the name will pop up this easily 😔. It was very stupid for me to got rid off it though. I mean, here we are in 2019, and you mean to tell me that something better has not come out since? Wow! Pretty backwards we are now as it seems! P.S You'll definitely hear from me if I managed to relocate that program. It literally was "perfect". And I mean "perfect" in the most literal way. It had ALL type of voices. And all you had to do, is click on the preferred selected voice. Then speak onto the mic and the program will do the rest flawlessly.

@@kiyoponnn Soundblaster's Z series soundcard comes with a hardware voice changer chip that's so good (for my voice at least) that I've got a few dozen people thinking I'm a girl ue to simply forgetting to turn it off before popping into a voice chat.

Hey Mike, points into the right direction, but to really get there, you need to manipulate the formants. Now, I am not familiar with Audacity - is there a tool that can alter pitch and formants independently? If so - that really does the trick.

hey, there is a way i found that works great for me. pitch the vocal up by 12 semitones if its a vocal for a song. if its just some normal speaking voice, you can adjust it later. after that use a formant shift (free and good plugin with formant shift would be MAutoPitch). pull down the formant to about -7 and adjust from there. Eq and effects after can make it a lot cleaner as well. hole this helps

Hello, I tried this but for some reason it affected the whole track as I edited and cut the tracks but for some reason it makes it all sound feminine. Is there something that I'm doing wrong? AS THERE ARE ONLY BITS THAT I WANT SPECIFICALLY TO SOUND FEMININE

If you only want to effect part of the track and you’re working in waveform then select the part you want to work on before otherwise by default Audition will process the entire track.

That sounds more like a trap than a female. A female voice is almost one octave above a male voice. Also change the formants helps alot. By allowing more deep formants through, you can pitch it up to 1 octave (12 semi) and still won't sound chipmunk.

Yes, there are now more advanced voice changers available that can modify your voice to sound like a different person and be less recognizable. Ovox from Waves, VocalSynth from iZotope - these are good starting points.

Mobile audio editors after often cut down versions of the desktop versions. Best to do the heavy work on a computer.

Ouch. Harsh comments down here. It's never gonna sound like the epitome of femininity with a sample like that, obviously. There's more to gender in voice than just pitch. But it can help in certain cases if you play with it. Anyone seriously saying that if they heard that final voice on the phone they wouldn't imidiately assume it was female is lying.

To change a female voice to male in Adobe Audition use pitch-shifting and other effects. Lower the pitch and play around with settings until you get the desired male tone.

If you're looking to change your voice from female to male, I suggest experimenting with pitch shifting and EQ adjustments to achieve the desired effect! Also, something like ElevenLabs can help now with the Speech to Speech feature.

@@neko4683 just pitch shift it down and try to slow it a tiny bit but don't overdo it and maybe try to sing in more bass tones since usually from what i heard men don't do good at high pitches more toned down ones usually come out better
