the WORX WX876 - a quick look round this surprisingly efficient, quiet yet powerful fridge / freezer, and YES I did not miss type that it is a freezer too! with temperatures down to -20°C (-4°F) and cool down times that are considered rapid! it can drop as fast as 1°C a minute, temperature can be set via the digital output screen, it runs on mains ac power as well as 12/24 volt in vehicle power supply and has a ample 1 cubic foot chilled compartment with sealed door. I am going to be using this on a daily basis for my lunch, and an upcoming festival and will report back on its ability as a daily workhorse rather than a infrequent gadget, current prices are £349.99 for the bare unit and £449.99 for the fully loaded version including 2x wa3014 4ah powershare PRO batteries as well as the wa3883 battery charger - price for US customers i believe is the same just in dollars. the bare unit weighs in at 13.5kg but does feature a foldaway pull along handle and wheels at the back too. This is a real cordless fridge in comparison with the 'cool' boxes that other companies make.

Apparently Alpicool sell the original version of this for significantly less money, based on comments from the USA in another video. Don't know if they sell in UK. It also looks like Ryobi sell an identical model but uses their own batteries, for the same RRP. So that's at least 3 different companies selling the identical model but with their own batteries.

Useful video Mike. You might want to correct the typo in the video title. You might get more views that way.

Just wondering why you haven’t corrected the title to show the correct model number yet?

Thanks for posting this video, curious as to how its holding up, and how many watts it pulls over a 24hr period. Just ordered one fingers crossed

Hi, apologys for the random replies..... dashboard issues, it still performs great and I am getting circa 20 hours from it in my van with 4ah batteries I have now set the temperature to 4°c and run it in eco mode and it kind of pulses the temperature down to 2°c then let's it get up to 5°c then kicks in the compressor again.... this is similar to a large mains fridge, where as in normal mode the worx fridge runs alot more frequently and uses more power, I can test the exact wattage pull over an hour to give you a aggregate to help you find the answer to the wattage question, but as it has 2 batteries in parallel rather than series I would need two testers to get that data and I only have 1 special custom made in line worx battery tester :-D

can you even freeze water with it, and how long does it take?

Yes you can..... weirdly..... I am about to defrost my freezer tonight so will actively use it in -°C over night for the first time tonight! I will report back on how it performs!!

So if i've understood, -5 means 5 degrees, and 5 means -5 degrees? Did Worx really think that was a good interface choice? If its designed to also be in the upright position (as shown in video) it looks like the hot air vent is on the bottom instead of, well, any other side! Thats a shame. Does that hinder performance? Anyway, for those interested, it's currently on sale for £143 without batteries, in their ebay shop (uk). Usually £350. Remember to tick the extra discount box to bring it down from £150. Around 7 days remaining on offer, though it was in the previous sale too about 2 or 3 months back, so if missed out, try again in a few weeks.

Having used it constantly now for 365 days nearly to the day, it does exactly what it Says on the tin, if you set it to 3°c it is 3°c if you have it on normal mode, in eco it does fluctuate for economy sake, the vents are on both sides and base, and it has stand off feet to negate the build up of heat during use, even sat on my passenger seat rendering the feet less usefull in 30°C heat in summer didn't stop it providing me with ice cold drinks for my team then bring it home and have cool drinks on summer nights, rinse repeat, lol led lights still work well, only thing is when running at 0°c it can form ice on humid days from condensation this can then cause small amounts of water build up in the bottom, a very minor issue on what is otherwise a does what it says on the tin product, it even helped me out as a freezer when my main needed defrosting housing all those random half bags of mix veg not big enough for one but too big to throw away sized portions!

@@mikesptworldthat sounds good. So the comment at 3.41 wasn't about the display then? Were you talking about the buttons being inverted then?

I meant that pushing + actually decreases the minus figure which is confusing but correct as we rarely count like that in negative base i.e to get from -5 to -4 you have to push + which makes perfect sense until you focus on the fact that pushing + makes the number value get smaller (which is actually not true its just increasing through a scale with a reversing point) I'm sure if you deal with negative numbers often it seems normal but it was one of the weird moments in life I realised I never had!

@@mikesptworld Ah, thanks for clarifying. In that case I do prefer the way Worx does it. Makes more intuitive sense to me.
