That’s what I was waiting for and Honda did it. They changed the dash and speedometer. Perfect.

I’m so mad. Just got one last year and these changes are basically all I was asking for and have been talking about. It’s a lease, but I almost feel kinda duped. The head unit in the. 23 model feels like a joke compared to what other offerings have.

@@samuellortie8783yea I actually thought that too. I don’t really see why they changed that. With the arm rest, you can raise or lower the seat without affecting the arm rest height of the passenger too. And the roll door was always cool to me. I just really wanted that higher res screen and wireless care play. The current screen looks like the first color screen smartphones compared with an iPhone 15

A nice vehicle. I just purchased a 2024 Honda Pilot Sport which is similar inside. I was looking at one of these in 2018 and I purchased an F150 instead. If I had to do the same thing all over again I would purchase the Ridgeline. The F150 was OK, but the interior and overall build quality of the Ridgeline was much better.

You forgot to mention that there is no permanent temperature gauge on its new instrument panel to let you know that the engine’s temperature is within factory specs. I don’t want to rely on an idiot light because it might come on when it’s too late being that the V-6 engine in the Ridgeline is an interference engine with a rubber timing belt. It’s time for Honda to update their V-6 engines with a timing chain and bring back the permanent temperature gauge in their Ridgeline, but they won’t.

Why not a fully digital instrument cluster?!?! The half digital display looks half-ass. Honda really needs to get their act together ASAP. The interior of the 2024 Ridgeline looks old and the sad thing is the Black Edition looks no different than the lower trims. They need more separation between their different trims. I think they should put the Pilot Elite interior into the Ridgeline Black Edition. Also, where is the 10-speed transmission, HUD, and digital rearview mirror (just to name a few things). Honda, are you listening!!

Nice video. Love the payload for this Ridgeline (1,543 lbs). More than some 1/2 ton pickup trucks. I tow a 2,900 lb camper and haul camping gear. The RL is on my short list for the end of 2024.

They need to do a hybrid already of the honeycomb dash design in all their othet vehicles to make me buy one. Or have the power of an actual truck. One or the other.

The black edition '24 especially has a ton of great upgrades that essentially bring it up to par with the Canadian RLs, including ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, power folding side mirrors, heated wipers (or rather glass), and some more minor features. Maybe heated steering wheel is new too? But they missed out on rain sensing wipers that the Canadian RL offer and the lack of the conversation mirror is just strange b/c that would be such a cheap feature to add and is kind of a glaring omission. What I would have liked to see that would have been easy to implement also (as standard or options) are auto dimming side mirrors and especially an integrated brake controller. Should be able to adjust the features from the screen and not the unit installed under the dash.

The 2023 RTL-E has auto dimming side mirrors and rear view mirrors, can confirm, it also has a heated steering wheel and front seats. I wish it had ventilated seats. I would totally pay to get the dash and infotainment system upgraded but keep my sliding center console and captains chair armrests any day. Those arm rests are great for long trips and I can just hold the steering wheel with one hand. I guess the only thing I can flex (that I hardly ever use) is the in bed audio system the 2023-2017 ones came with. The defrosting windshield and heated windshield work in tandem and turbo melt ice. Heated side mirrors as well. It would be nice to also have power folding mirrors. The Trailsport imo is a downgrade from what the RTL-E offered. I ended up installing NLD steel front and mid skid plates with a catalytic converter cage/skid plate (way better quality than the wimpy “skid plate” the trailsport comes with). Still have the stock all season tires (they handle in the snow and mountains quite well). They don’t have rear seat usb connectivity and it seems lower quality in the rear seats. The sliding console is perfect for placing fast food and the arm rests lock the bag in place. The digital speedometer is dated. After driving lots of rentals, the biggest things I can appreciate are the auto dimming side mirrors and the always on lane keep assist. All other brands I’ve been in (Toyota, GMC, Ford, Kia) have been hard to activate and always require ACC to be activated. You can tailgate people with LKAS on (I don’t really tailgate but the ACC following is pretty bad in traffic).

Hey Mike, I love SUV's I got one, but not enough space for camping. I want to purchase a mid size truck and one of this is Honda Ridgeline. My concern is how reliable this truck that using timing belt, with single overhead cam, direct injection plus cylinder deactivation that in the long run of owning it, here comes the carbon build up! Please tell me your honest opinion, and knowledge about this beautiful unibody truck from Honda. Looking forward for your wonderful response, Thank you.
@gingasamuri
@gingasamuri 22 күн бұрын
For cylinder deactivation you can buy a device called SVCM or VCMuzzler. I use SVCM and there was a noticeable 2 mpg loss. It fools the ECU into thinking the engine is never up to normal temp. Therefore VCM never activates and all 6 beautiful cylinders are always firing as god intended. Should the engine actually overheat, the device will temporarily deactivate. There is a big difference in engine responsiveness when you inhibit the VCM from working. You always have the power.

Bummer they didn't upgrade any of the Honda Safety Sense suite. The safety suite in the G2 Ridge is horrendous, one of the main reasons I sold my 22. As soon as they update the safety suite I'll look at them again.

@huie1983 5 ай бұрын
@@FloridaSoundsGood I'd say 2 things. 1) The radar cruise is really jerky in it's close follow settings. It's constantly braking or accelerating trying to keep speed. This made my passengers sick. 2) The crash mitigation auto braking is way too sensitive even on the lowest settings. It has issues where around curves on 2 lane roads it'll detect cars in the opposite lane as being in front of you and alert and or apply brakes. It is really bad if there are any sort of shadows on the road from trees etc.
