Thank you Mike. I tried to connect my Sony Alpha 6300 with usb and without Capture Card. I had latences. Now with the HDMI its seems to work. Thanks for the video! Very helpful!!!

Haha! I just picked up the 4K-capable version of this card this morning for $40 at my local Micro Center (it's got the Kanex brand, but is otherwise identical). Hooked it up to my Sony RX100 m3 to use as my "B" camera. Out of the box, it's an almost perfect color match to my Elgato HD60 S and Sony a6100! Then, poking around on KZfaq, and your video popped up.

Your video helped me find some great items to use my action camera with! Even though it's not a Sony (and doesn't have all these fancy options), it still has a micro HDMI output, so it should work (hopefully)! Thank you so much Mike, didn't know about the MTP setting and so the output of my RX100III was so disappointingly bad... Oh, BTW, if you use the movie mode instead of Manual, you get 16:9 rate.

I connected HDMI Video Capture card (same one you use in the video) and connected it to my Windows 10 machine, it configures it as a Video Capture in Device Mgr as Camera. When I run OBS the only video source is available is OBS Virtual Camera--I selected it and used the defaults, no video shows up in the OBS windows

The dirt cheap USB HDMI 2.0 capture dongles deliver a choppy 30fps max and have much latency (video will arrive later than audio on stream). Spend a little bit more for a USB 3.0 4k60 capable card and use a USB 3.0 port. Much smoother if you want 60 fps and less latency. Also 4k if you want to upgrade camera in the future.

Does Sony have a settings for 'unlimited runtime'? I don't want my Sony DSC-HX90 to turn off during my live stream. Please, let me know!

so you need a Capture Card if you want to use micro HDMI, you can't plug it straight into your HDMI port on a PC?

Loved the video I am using the capture card with sony camcorder and mirrorless. While panning and when there is movement in the frame the video seams to break in the live while it is perfect in the camera screen Why is the footage breaking only in the live stream is it because of capture card ???
