In a nutshell, I ‘m an avid dumpster diver, scrapper, picker, treasure hunter and underwater connoisseur. I prowl the city streets in search of dumpster loot, curbside treasures & scrap metal as well as scour the river bottoms for lost valuables during the summer months when I can scrounge up enough money for gas. There are websites that will pay you for textbooks. They even send a pre-labeled box to you to package it in. I used to work at a university and would always grab the free textbooks people put out. Good pocket money. You get way less than if you sold it yourself, but it's a very quick flip.

You might want to cut open what you thought was a rusty water heater. I think that’s an expansion tank. I took one out of my dad’s house and the inside was a copper tank.

Sometimes scrap is put on the road and then it is destined for someone else. It does raise a question mark. There's plenty to find in the dumpster.

Yesterday was a monday for sure for me! Woke up to find two tires on my wife's car slashed- then while driving to the tire shop to replace them I got T Boned by a CITY PARK'S truck! Totaled my truck! And I had an a.c. repair on a roof in 106 degree heat at 3pm in the afternoon! So now I'm out my scrap mobile and all the goodies that came with and missed a day of work! I freakin hate Mondays!

Hey Mike, those really old water heaters sometimes have copper tanks! Your allowed to call the golf clubs sticks, only because at one time golf clubs were made from wood or sticks!

It's cheaper for Amazon to throw the returns away rather than pallet them up for a liquidation center to sell to others who buy pallets of stuff in bulk.

I have a friend who was in seminary. They had to scavage to survive. They learned when one, precisely, one of the grocery stores put meat in a dumpster. Being very careful to be there as soon as possible in order to get it while it was still cold, they had all the meat they could eat the whole 3 years!! Never once did they get sick! 😮😮
