JUST HAD TO SAY THE SAME THING.....YOUR GREAT! THANKS! COULD YOU DO A VIDEO ON HOW TO BURN 4 COLOR PROCESS SCREEN. You sir, are great! at producing videos. im at the point now that i can do process and simulated process, so these vids are mainly reinforcement. However your vids were spoken so clear and the workflow so organized, it was very refreshing. Even you're explanation of "emulsion up" in the output sections (which no one ever really mentions) just shows how meticulous you are in demonstrating the important elements of the process. SO thank you very much. and a note to others, do not glaze over

Thanks. Really good tutorial. Don't understand why these experts complain! Almost seem like they became expert screen printers as soon as they came out of their mother's tummy. At the end Mike, when you hit print in adobe illustrator, does your printer print each positive individually? Keep doing these vids Mike. Young screen printers in maker space are learning a lot.

@@markylon Yes, I've seen them. Most vids are geared towards newbies. A good educational Vid is typically geared towards making things very easy to follow without having to go back and back and back newbies to grasp a point in the vid. It may make the more experienced more comfortable if they just spit it out fast to make for a short vid, but these vids are not about making sure the experienced people who know their way around photoshop comfortable. 2ndly, People who complain about the quality of a FREE video tutorial, kill the joy of watching vids and remove the hope for humanity. You can always try get your money back.

One more question for you Mikey Designs & Silk Screen. One of the reasons I'm watching this video, is I'm wanting to get into 4 Color Process Screen Printing....have a press and all...just wanting to do more. That said. Do you know of a resource that explains all the available printers that can print 4 color process transparencies? To my knowledge....it's basically ONLY the Epson's w/the 6 colors, is that correct? Additionally. I see you're using AccuRip software (Ryonet stuff, correct?). Is there any AccuRip software options that cost less than what Ryonet sells? Thanks so much in advance!

Good afternoon, a query about the cymk process inks ...... which ink would you recommend me .... since here in Lima the process there are problems with Cyan and Magenta since they are not the same tones in the color separation as It is seen in Photoshop ..... or I would have to lower it with a neutral base ...because the magenta ink is a reddish and the cyan a bluish in the process inks thanks

Hey! We keep all of the angles the same so the don't lay on top of one another and you do not get a rosette pattern.

I noticed the edges of the image are semi-transparent. I know for DTG transparent edges aren't recommended because the white underbase would show under the 'transparent' color. Is that the same for screen printing, or is it different?

Ideally you want an image with a transparent background for screen printing as well. Makes it easier to separate the art.

I have a client that wants a drawing that I did digitally to be used as a t shirt design. The problem is that she needs an svg file to cut for printing. But when I do a trace I lose too much detail. Please help

Does the art have to be vector? What about using a clipping path, tracing the outline of the image and pasting the raster image inside using command / control 7? That or you could res up the image to a really high dpi 1200, and then do the auto trace.

If you plan on printing film positives, it's very useful and saves a lot of time but you can also create halftones in Photoshop without a rip.

@@epuga15 I personally don't recommend it because it's not the industry standard and can create issues with file hand offs to clients, or other businesses. I'd recommend Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator. Easy low cost plans.

You can with a white underboss, but you'll have to flash between the white base, and yellow / magenta.

Hi Mikey, thank you for this video. I know it’s seven years old, but I searched for the final print of the frog in tshirt and also I wanted to see the film prints. I was curious to see the the cmyk will create the beautiful gradients in this image?! Can you recommend another video that you did with similar color quality? I saw the flag, but that was rather simple. I create work with many colors and watercolor/ink gradations and wanted to see how to screen print gradients basically. Thank you for sharing. I’m going to keep looking through your videos and hopefully I will find something that will answer my questions.

Go to edit, and color profiles. You'll then click on load. Do a search for CMYK Ryonet CMYK color profiles. Let me know if this helps.

The AccuRip software (which is what he printed to) automatically changes anything from color or grey scale into 100% black half tone dots.

Nope, the screen printer people take care of that. You just give your screen printer the full color picture and all the set up is on their end. Everything you see on this video is work that the screen printer does, not the customer.

I wouldn't recommend a white base for CMYK. Look up our videos on simulated process.
