I heard this song recently for the first time while in Tokyo on vacation. My wife was doing something on instagram and scrolling through song sound bites to attach when this one came up. Of course it was the chorus part. Normally I don’t pay attention, but I had to find out more. I grabbed my own phone and Shazam’d it so I could get more details, which ultimately led me to here and this video. It’s so good. I’m from the States so I’d never heard of Miki or this song, but her voice is lovely and the song is beautiful. I can’t stop listening to it.

While I do understand she felt as though music consumed what she had lived up until her final years, she also made millions of people happy through a temporary escape from everyday hardships. She gave everything she had for the sake of her fans. For that, I’m afraid I cannot honor her wishes and completely forget about her or the legacy she left behind. I’m not sure where people go after death. However, I hope she understands how we all feel and can smile knowing she lives on through our love for her and not just music alone.
