Kats Wow... all that talent, and she never got into a big Russian company. That saddens me

But we will all support whatever she feels like doing. She must have trained for the longest time afterall those amazing achievements, maybe its time for a new challenge. She has already achieved a lot already anyway. Moreover, she's still teaching ballet once in a while

It happens :) people change. She said in a Dance Magazine interview she realized that a career in ballet was not what she thought it was - but says she is grateful to ballet. She continues to teach. I can relate to her situation because I was training super hard to pursue ballet as a career but I was starting to hate it because it just was too much - I’m glad I realized it was not for me. I decided to go to school and still dance as much as I could without the pressure.

Alguien me puede explicar en español porqué dejó el ballet?

Dijo que habia perdido la pasión. Puede ser que después del éxito en competiciones el trabajo en corps-de-ballet no fuera lo que habia esperado.

She had the talent, she had the drive, she had the look. She even had both family and financial support. Yet everything is out the window when puberty hits her. Ballet is cruel and the world is really unfair.
@jewelmarkess4 жыл бұрын
Ballet is cruel indeed, but in her case how was the fact that she lost passion for ballet - according to her own words - is related to her puberty? It's not like her body changed and someone told her she couldn't pursue ballet. She got a job in corps in Binghamton Royal Ballet and after a year there decided it wasn't for her. Maybe after all the success in competitions, the work in corps was a let down. Or maybe she just burned out. Have you actually read an interview with her? She said she started to lose passion for ballet even before getting a job.
@elyseenger26463 жыл бұрын
@@jewelmarkess And I noted that even with her level of talent, she's very unobtrusive which make her perfect material for the ballerina de corps. She performs best when she's nervous, which make me think that she isn't good soloist material. Most prima ballerinas and soloists extrudes confidence, which is necessary for a convincing performance.
@jewelmarkess3 жыл бұрын
@@elyseenger2646 Yes, but she clearly didn't like being in corps. It could be as she said in an interview that she wanted to be judged on her mind and not her body, but it could also be that after all the accolades she got dancing variations in competitions, the work in corps was a bit of a let down. In competitions, she was the best and dancing ballerina variations. In corps, she was one of the dancers, not getting any solo opportunities. She left ballet after a year in corps.
