David, Your two videos of the Mikron mill are very much appreciated! I'm in the US, and recently acquired an F75 horizontal (stub, no overarm). In decent shape, but didn't have the cast iron stand, the trouser-leg drive system, nor the power drive. Your videos show what a solid and useful machine it can be. Thank you!

A special feature of these old Mikron machines is that they are not painted but have a metallic coating applied by flame spraying.

Indeed, I think I mention that on my website and in other videos. It looks like some kind of nickle-iron alloy to me, but not sure.

@@davidsamways In the company where I used to work, we had Mikron gear cutting machines. These machines were built with a precision that you probably don't find anymore. And I know enough other machines from Switzerland and Germany.
