Thanks for this explanation. Started a year ago with Mikrotik OS at home and in a Museum. Your videos helped me learn a lot especially setting up Capsman. Learning to improve the firewall rules is the next step. Thanks 👍

I started making mass amount of mangle rules "add dist. to address list" for what ever website i use whenever i remember one.. so that my router makes his own database of the IPs that i use.. thank you for the video teacher

Thank you for this wonderful video! I just have a quick question, is there something like an essential firewall rules or filter that should be enabled/ added on the mikrotik? I'm very new to this and dove head first so apologies for the question.

How does this work if you use NAT (like with masquerade), is it traffic going TO the router, or THROUGH the router it self (specially when coming from internet to a VLAN but also the other way around)?

Can you please tell, if I want to mark connections/packet destined to specific ip address list from pc to this list (through WAN interface), why only prerouting chain cathes the traffic but not forward chain? thanks

Hi, if you have used a bridge for an other subnet on the same router and NAT to go to an other router, what would I use as chain for the router the subnet lives on: input or forward?
@MAICT Жыл бұрын
on bridge you cannot use the IP firewall. You can only use the bridge firewall

Do you have any way to clear connection tracking with a script on Router OS v7 when using failover. Tested and the Scripts just give an error on v7 and on v6 it works without any issues. Your help would really be appreciated.
@MAICT Жыл бұрын
script on Routeros v6 is different than v7. You should adjust it to work on v7
