Basically, "tame ni" can express something that is mechanical, as in, make A+B to equal C because it is the rule of life or etc... "You ni" is used for a personal desire or hope because, there is a chance that you cannot fulfill that desire or hope. "You ni" is something that is not "mechanical or automatic." It is something that i don't know the outcome of. But something that is mechanical/automatic/instructional would need "tame ni." Thank you. I have been studying Japanese for 13 years and use it fully in my company and daily life. However, this was something that was very useful and educational. Thank you very much Miku.

Hello Miku sensei, a very nice lesson. Thank you for your hard work. You say as first difference between them is that you can´t use ように with a noun. But you can. Tatoeba: iPhoneのように作った。iPhone no yō ni tsukutta. Made as iPhone. iPhone用に作った。iPhone yō ni tsukutta. Made for iPhone. You say you can´t use it for the meaning "for the sake of", but the information is rather incomplete and could lead to confusion as you can add a noun to it, but with different meaning. It confused me and I nearly wrote this information into my papers as I still just learn japanese, where I discovered that I DO have such examples with nouns in my papers and it took me some time to clear the topic for myself.

Only at 4:50 I realized why the moustache and the weird accent, "mamma mia!"😱 😂

This is a great explanation. I came across this use of you ni in my reading today and wondered why the author hadn’t used tame ni. You’ve answered my question so clearly. Thank you so much! I've been trying to get someone to explain the difference between ために and ように for ages, and this was very clear. (By the way, your example at 15:00 seems like it would be translated as "doing lots of overtime" rather than "saving money" - is that wrong?)

The trouble is that you CAN use "noun + のように" but it means something totally different, it means "like noun", it's a similae.

I did mistake your pronunciation of “hustle” for “hassle.” The General American /æ/ in “hassle” is actually a prolonged, jaw-opening glideeither [ｴｲ]~[ｴｱ] or [ｴｱ]~[ア] (Slur 部屋!) But the /ʌ/ of “hustle” is quick, with jaw closer and tongue further back than ア, something like [ｵｱｯ]: Hｴｱ~アSL vs HｵｱｯSL

Meaning wise, keeping it super simple, ために seems more like, "for the purpose of" and has a sense of determination in a way, and like it was long desired or planned Whereas ように is more like "in order to", and has a feel of multiple things needing to be done IN ORDER for that to happen とにかく、このビデオを作ってくれて本当にありがとう!!　いつかペラペラになれるように一所懸命勉強します!!
