NGOs are good but independent people are also doing a lot without a budget. Consider helping independent volunteers.

She's intentionally misleading people... she wasn't born in ukraine. There was NO ukraine at the time of her birth. She was born in Soviet Union/USSR and she knows this. By the way, check her earliest interviews where she clearly states that she is russian.

You could also argue it‘s intentionally misleading in this context to leave out the fact that there was a Ukrainian SSR at that time. I grew up in a community of immigrants from all over the Soviet Union. Many people just say, for example, „I‘m from Kazakhstan“ instead of „I‘m from the Soviet Union/the Kazakh SSR“. It‘s a simplification, it doesn‘t necessarily have anything to do with politics.
