Something wierdly attractive about Milan. Have been there twice. The area near the train station is grey and depressing but the rest of the city is very nice. Miss it so much!

Unlike the rest of Italy, Milan is one of the most dynamic city on the current european scenario. It has improved a lot during the last 20 years combining the past (the town center) with the modernity (the architecturally vibrant City Life). It's plenty of events and initiatives, it's fashionable and culinary sophisticated, it has good universities (the Polytechnic and the private Bocconi). Much more international and less "stereotypical" of the other italian cities. Very interesting also the hidden courtyards of the historical center.
