Treliving has done a good job with Toronto. Since the all-star break and then again after the deadline, the Leafs are way tougher and finally bring some pushback. They can still be a little grittier, but it's a step in the right direction.

start being pissed off cause you guys don't have the cap. leafs fans don't seem to realize. samonsov is a free agent...with his season and playoff run he's easily getting 5m a year. schenns agent just said the leafs and schenn aren't even close to a deal. say bye.

@@DDDDdJagr theres also talk right now that theres a high chance nylander is getting traded. Theres been talk for a while now that treliving wants to do major changes to the leafs roster. Theres even talk that he wants to tear down the leafs defence and rebuild it and give the leafs more cap.

@ryanjoudrey9038 Thr fact that so many walked yet they kept Keefe is the worse case scenario, plus trying to keep the core 4 while paying more for no results? I'm just about done cheering for this team. I'm losing interest faster and faster. I don't expect them them to win the cup, as other delusional fans do, because I get Bettman won't let it happen but the fact they don't try or even put on a good show come post season, and many regular season games, is where I have most of the trouble. I want a team that'll hold players accountable, that have players that care about more then just getting paid and a team that is fun to watch, especially come playoffs. That hasn't been this team in a very long time and it's only getting worse. The only thing that I thought was good was getting rid of Holl but overall, I doubt it makes that much difference. Keefe was horrible when he coched the Grey Hounds, what made anybody believe he'd be a good NHL coach? I understand MLSE doesn't care about winning or entertaining anybody, as long as the money keeps coming in, but as a fan, I do.

@@jeffreycairns767respect, I get that viewpoint I’m just tryna be optimistic. I honestly think the boys played some solid defensive hockey this year, and I think Treliving is right in a sense; scoring needs to improve…and I’m really glad he brought in Bert and Domi honestly, those are solid moves…but to your point, I think the “core four” NEED to be held accountable, they’re just not gonna do it themselves at this point in their career. And Keefe is absolutely better for those guys than someone like Babcock, so it honestly wasn’t the worst decision at the time IMO…but I think maybe under different management from Brad, it could spark something that we’ve been missing. At the end of the day, I think it’s Shanahan that should be gone lmao..but I say give Keefe another year and if we make no progress in playoffs then fire him.

this is 6 years to late - to late - now, winning stanley requires three new players to the team, position players that are proven winners in June, lucic would have been one of the players - 6 seasons ago (trade samsanov)

Love Lucic as a player. Guy is an absolute beast. That being said, if the leafs sign him at this point in his career, I'm honestly done with them.

They need players like them, but they absolutely don't need 35 and 36 year old enforcers. We tried this experiment with Simmonds and Clifford and it failed horribly. Get some young blood that play the similar games to these two and I'm all ears. As for these two players specifically, that's a hell nah

Ok, so why is this team still soft? What's he need a year or two to figure it out. And a core that never wants to play playoff hockey. He's got to make a lot of changes to change the team for the better. He's got a lot of work to undo what dubas did.
