Milan Maersk - Maiden Arrival Southampton 8/11/17 - timelapse

6 жыл бұрынOn 8th November 2017 Milan Maersk made her maiden call at the port of Southampton. With a nominal capacity of 20,568 TEU she is the largest container ship to visit the port.
She is the 4th vessel in Maersk Line Triple E mkII class which are all being built in South Korea by DSME. She was launched in September 2017.

Any time I see the port tender grabbing the mooring lines of these ships it always reminds me of the little rowing boat that comes out and grabs the towing line of the ships when they pass through the Panama canal. The lines are then taken up and attached to the 'mules' that help pull the ships through the locks. The man in the rowing boat gets one chance because the ship is under its own power too at that point, one mistake and the boat could be crushed. Excellent video :)
