Earlier my platina 110 gave 50 kmpl in running in period and after 12000 km, mileage started increasing and increased upto 80 kmpl (I felt that showroom guy gave me test riden bike). But due to some oil consumption issue, engine rebuild was done under warranty (38000+ km odo). After engine rebuild, this time I took extra care of each and every part of the engine: 1. Maintained Ignition (Clean spark plug) after every 400~500 kms. 2. Maintained Air Intake (Clean Air Filter) after every 300 kms. 3. Maintained Cooling System (Clean Engine Fins and Oil sump bottom) every morning before starting ride. 4. Extra oil cooling (installed aluminium heat sink) to avoid any oil over heating to get maximum oil pressure all the time. (Extra oil pressure has many benifits) 5. Always ridden below the speed limit of each gear as per owner manual (I ridden it below 90% of that speed). 6. Ridden in variable speed ranges (2 min in 38~42 kmph range then next 5 min 15-20 kmph range) 7. Always ridden in plane roads (slight incline also ok). Almost no stress for engine. As this time, the bike wasn't ridden by the showroom "Idiots" (only engine was started by the mechanic to check engine sound after rebuild), I was the one who performed first ride for the engine. Engine sound was like 2 different engines are running at same time. I got 90+ kmpl in first 400 kms (300 km in 3.25L) and after that for next 250 kms, I got around 120 kmpl (233 km in 1.95L). Most of the people think that after first service, mileage increases. Yes, most of the time it increases. But in actual, the engine regains its dropped mileage after the service. But if all those points (except extra oil cooling, as it is highly experimental and may damage the engine if not used carefully) are followed, then there will be almost no difference in mileage before and after first service.
