If characters aren't interacting the way the game says they should(for good and bad) that means they're broken. Appreciate the comparisons, tho.

Virtua fighter is too complex and it feels not rewarding, 3rd strike is complex but fun.

@@RyuShinkuuHadoken I very much disagree about VF feeling unrewarding to play, especially when you land a tetsuzanko or somersault kick.

Tbf a a lot of oldheads in the FGC probably play 2D fighters way more. So going from a 2D game to a 3D game can often be a daunting or even a scary experience to someone who's already acostumed to a certain type of fighting game. One of the main reasons why I don't really play Tekken despite being a good game.

As a Tekken fan I think this is more Tekken players saying that.

Actually he has 6 videos highlighting every CvS2 groove, and that comes with a perfect comparison between PARRY and JUST DEFENSE, on the P-Groove video.

Third Strike was a product of it's time and those of us who remember the 90's before KZfaq and social media associate it with much better times than we experience today. Feels like everything was better back then except technology which is debatable. People were legitimately happier back then and more human.

It still has a large audience honestly. There are people playing 3S all these decades later.

I do think 3rd strike always has the fun out of being like "I coulda parried that". Even with the strongest characters like Chun the counterplay is very obvious and simple in theory if not to do practically. I can't say that for a lot of old games, and half the cast not having a tool like that makes them feel more unplayable, rather than just disadvantaged.

I think it's an issue with how the balance on old games can't be fixed while in new games there's an expectation for there to be balance. People would definately like an game more if it had better balance, but since they already have a meta set in stone, as well as the fact that it won't be updated more makes people go "Oh, silly 3rd Strike!" while complaining about sf6's balance actaully gets people somewhere which makes people ciritcize it more.

As for OE, Iron Galaxy did a good job with 3rd Strike Online edition, on every single aspect, except for the ones I mentioned, and I (& many others) didn’t appreciate the new audio additions, which were meant to sound like more contemporary rap at the time of the port, but were corny, and haven’t aged anywhere near as well as say, the NG arranged album, 2i’s spectacular soundtrack, OR the PS2 Arranged 3rd Strike soundtrack, which had greatly improved audio over the original arcade 3rd Strike’s low quality audio (which is what 30th featured, exclusively)

If every fighter is broken, then none are broken. All are balanced.
