The Playstation and Saturn versions are loaded with bugs/glitches. Like if you taunt too much with Shao Kahn he will start jumping up and down constantly and won't stop. Or if you do Kintaro's/Goro's fireball the music changes. Certain finishers done on certain stages will make the game crash. One of the weirdest ones is if player 2 is Shang Tsung, you can force him to morph to Nightwolf. All player 1 has to do is pause and unpause real quick (like doing slow-mo). After about 3 pause/unpause in a row (assuming they are done quick enough) p2 will morph to Nightwolf, even if the second controller is untouched.

Funny how Noob Saibot went from having one of the lamest fatalities in Trilogy to one of the best in MK9. Make a Wish was even featured in a clip on the Daily Show with Jon Stewart.

If only we had that remaster!

Johnny Cage is played by Christopher Alexander, who had the role because Daniel Pesina (from MK1 and MK2) was busy promoting a rival fighting game! Same for Kitana's MK2 actress.

The story behind the new Johnny Cage was the actor who originally played him was playing him for an advertisement for a rival game. He got fired and killed off in 3. Thus the new Johnny in Trilogy.

Personally I always thought Cyber-Smoke's big fatality was like an alternate ending. World's gone so no more tournaments!

I had Trilogy growing up on PSX. Many hours spent with my sister going through Tournament mode and unlocking the giant Fatality compilation. Good times.

This was the first Mortal Kombat game I owned.

Yeah, at the time, this was the largest mk cast until mk: Armageddon which had like create a character spots and 62 playable sprites.

Remember owning this on Sega Saturn and playing the crap out of it after watching the horrible Mortal Kombat Annihilation in theaters (which I loved at the time)... Good memories...

I had an N64 and was looking to add some fighting games to my collection. Because Capcom never released any of their fighters on that console, I picked up both MK Trilogy and MK4. I was not disappointed!

Johnny cage's back breaker has always been my fav fatality. I wish he would have kept it throughout the series and been his trademark.

There is also an PC port of MKT also, and there's a genesis rom hack of umk3 called ultimate mortal kombat trilogy that adds all the Characters from 1,2,3,UMK3 and adds both Chameleon and Khameleon

I found an old PS2 at a goodwill a couple months ago and MK Trilogy was the first game I bought. It was also the first game I had on the N64 as a kid.

Still the best MK to date. Not debatable.

IIRC, the deal with the new Cage actor was because the previous dude did an ad for Bloodstorm (play it you cowards) and got fired for it. It's also why Cage was killed and left out of OG MK3 and UMK3
