He seems to have been typecast as that sort of arrogant, intelligent, sarcastic guy (pretty in pink, boston legal, wolf, the blacklist) ... but he does do it so well!

Remember that war is not something to be glorified. This argument by Alan Shore reminds me just how sad it is that we honor fallen soldiers who never should have been sent to fight and die in the first place. War is about those in positions of power profiting from the blood and sacrifice of men and women sent to their deaths.

It's all a propaganda you see. By glorifying war and by immortalising fallen troops as legends, they indoctrinate us into believing that military is where true heroes go. That if we also go and kill people, we will too be respected and loved. That war is just and Americans are exceptional.

Look on KZfaq and see how New Zealand Soldiers killed in Afghanistan were honoured, it was as per Maori Culture. There is footage of the procedure of them being carried off the aircraft and of their arrival at the army base. It is the Maori way of honouring a fallen warrior. Latest one was carried out for Maori Soldier killed in Ukraine and brought home.
