NB: My apologies for the poor focus/video quality this is a bit of fun and a hobby for me... I'm currently producing the majority of these videos on $200 Xiaomi Smartphone, however if people are interested and the channel grows I will inevitably invest in better equipment.

That was just brilliant... what a great journey discovering many new facts I didn't know about... I knew you would cover the untold side, and I can't wait to see what more comes from this... A very nice introductory review with a good documentary background. Thank you! When you've mentioned the radium paint used in 1920s watches, I immediately recalled the movie Radium Girls (2018)... It is a horrific story based on real facts.

Thank you! 👊 Yes! An absolutely horrific, tragic story. Those poor women were made to use their lips to shape the tips of the brush, never being given protective clothing, being told the compound was safe, while their bosses spent most of their time in lead lined offices only handling the containers of the chemicals in protective suites, using long tongs. I have no words!!

Thank you for the very informative video and details regarding this watch. I have a Luminox Recon that has a compass and sapphire crystal with a GMT function. It is in a carbon case and has 200m water resistance. I bought it years ago and have replaced the battery once. I think it was ~$180USD new. I just wish the RONDA movement had an EOL indicator. I am surprised to hear this newer version has mineral crystal. It looks cool, but I like mine better. Great job.

And thank you for your lovely comments!! Sounds like you got an amazing deal!! Yeah prices have certainly gone up everywhere, and as you rightly pointed out with the mineral glass many brands seem to be doing something similar, Seiko making their watches 100m less water resistant, Casio removing sensors from many different G-Shock... It's as if they are reducing expectations so that when they do (re-)release the watch with Sapphire crystal, the extra 100m or additional sensors they can then charge even more for them.

Surprisingly I spoke to a couple of US navy offices about that, and they do actually wear them, not so much the plastic versions nowadays apparently they don't last too well, but the metal and carbon fibre ones are fairly popular.
