What I find crazy about military throws is that you don't have to throw it hard for it to sink in good because the half spin is whats actually providing a lot of the power.

My friend, you've scored another winning video! Your opinions are very well reasoned and very articulately expressed. You are truly a great example of what KZfaq content can be. Keep up the good work! Also, I give up all the blame for my recent purchases to you! Completely due to your videos, I now own 2 pairs of brass knuckles, 1 pair plastic knuckles, 2 large saps and 1 small pocket sap! What are we going to play with next?

This is by far my favorite type of throw. What ive found to be helpful in half spins is also using my index finger on the back of the knife. Ive also noticed if you throw it to hard, you risk it not completing the half spin. Its all about finding your rhythm and ultimately takes time. Took me almost a year to really get the hang of it. Patience is key. One of my favorite hobbies though. Thanks for the video!

A friend of mine recently gave me a set of CS throwers to add to my knife collection. I had no throwers in the collection and didn't know how to throw them...that was before finding your channel, now I can stick em good! Btw....that Grand Way knife you're throwing is one of the first fixed blades I bought when I started collecting last year. It never crossed my mind that I could throw it! 😂 Good job! You covered a lot of good tips in this video. Excellent job. As a knife thrower myself, I carry a few knives on me at all times. I have even custom made a few knives for throwing. All live edge knives. Mostly spring steel, but built for how I throw, with easily concealed sheaths, so if and when I need to I am confident I will deploy it correctly. You only have one shot, so it’s got to count. I also train to deploy my next knife immediately after my throw. Whether a charge or a retreat. Fast movements but like you mentioned body is committed.

@Aukage9 ай бұрын
Great video. Question I would have is how best do you prevent bending the tips of your knives? Throwing with the blade horizontal is going to increase drag while moving through the air, but also the momentum of the handle has to be stopped by the weak-axis of the blade. I've been throwing, forcefully, for years, and always tried to keep the blade from rotating; so that the blade is vertical when leaving the hand, and try to have it vertical on contact with the target. Due to the energy in my throw, I find if the blade is not vertical on impact that even stronger, quality blades will bend with time.

Great video there. I was wondering what knife you use here? For me while I use normal throwers that are handleless Essentially sculpted steel darts which are the most durable ofc, but tactical knives like this throw real nice, the glock knife worked like a charm.

I’ve been buying some Russian Kizlyar fixed blade combat knives and they are definitely full tang, built well, and razor sharp! Should we tape our wrist so as not to fling it that it rotates till we get muscle memory?
@411Outdoors Жыл бұрын
Trial and error will teach you not to do that. I wouldn’t tape your wrist because you will learn instinctively afterwhile not to. When it comes to know spend throwing the entire arm can be a nuisance. The arm just has to be an extension of the bodies torque in that kind of throwing. After enough error your brain will begin to train you in the right direction
@Civil_Luke Жыл бұрын
This was the first way I learned to throw but I’ve since gone to full rotational throwing. I throw rotational like I throw an axe and I’ve yet to find a way that feels as powerful to me especially since the blade is in line with the rotation. That being said I’m not as athletic or skilled as you so I’m sure you’re right.

I am very new at throwing; it looks like the knife does a full rotation. I am having a tough time getting the knife to the target, 10 feet away on just half of a rotation.

The key to half spin is learning how to slow down the rotation. This is what allows you to get more distance.

I've personally found that instinctive no spin and military half spin are an easy transition after practice. I use no spin up to about 6 to 9 feet, depending on the knife, then transition to half spin.
