When Tom released "America" and it pissed people off he made a video about how he was an immigrant that was proud to call the US home. That people don't think about people like him and Nova when they think about immigrants or patriotism. the US has given him so much why wouldn't he be patriotic and also critical about the country he lives in? He's said multiple times he never felt "home" in Canada and travled all over the world but only every felt "home" when he came here. Tom has had many labels offer him deals, but he stays 100% independent so he can release what he wants when he wants. You don't need to do research before you listen to an artist, but if you're going to be "skeptical" about their true intentions based on where they were born or their rap name, maybe a little research would go a long way, just saying.
