Jan, I really enjoy your video's and learning about dairy farming, my knowledge is limited to having a pet cow when I was a kid. You must have one of or largest farms in Saskatchewan (thank god for spell check as there was no way I was spelling your province name properly) . Do you ever get a chance to have vacation time? Best wishes

So the grass got wrapped up, good to see. Hopefully the squares as well. I liked how that one cow from group two stayed bedded down in the stall until you came along with the rake. She was thinking just let me hit the snooze button one more time! That 17 mm must have been part of the microburst that hit the SE corner of the city last friday? Do you have a rain gauge at your house and if so did you get any? Great way to end the weekend with a new post, Thanks.

if you had that rain on friday i'm surprised you guys didn't flip it with your rake on the sunday or monday. your last video you were talking about your big boy tractor with no pto, get your mechanic to look up a hydraulic motor for your liquid spreader and use a pto coupler. if you made that work the 285 could run the pump and your dad would still have the versatile for the sprayer i'm the big boy has the hydraulic power to run the tanker. just a thought, hope your next rain hits soon

Okay Jan I have a question. I have noticed that some of these cows have huge udders while others not so large, does this factor into the amount of milk they produce? Enjoy your videos tremendously.
@Kevin-ji3zq
@Kevin-ji3zq Жыл бұрын
It can and it can't. A cow with a tiny udder won't produce a lot that's for sure but a huge udder doesn't have to always mean a lot of milk. Some cows just have naturally bigger udders and some only have big udders when they're full with milk but they will be small after getting milked

Armchair quarter back here. 1) Is there anyway you could have fresh feed for the cows to come back to after morning milking or at least have 60% of it there for them? You’d see a significant intake lift for no capital expense. 2) Is your nutritionist telling you to mix a load for 15mins? Is there not a massive risk of over processing?
